I did the team points in this thread somewhere about 2 weeks ago. You'll have to manually update it since the day I did it.

I believe that Giroux is leading the league in points since as far back as December 6th. G has 51 points to 50 for Crosby over that same stretch. I believe Kessel is the only one even close at 46.

If you take it from December 17th, it is 46 to 44 in favor of G and Kessel at 41.

This sort of makes you wonder if Giroux could've challenged Crosby for the Art Ross if he had been healthy and/or running on all cylinders to start the season, because it was within the first two months of the season that Crosby built his point lead. Since then, it has been neck and neck or a slight edge to G.

Lets go Blue Jackets!!!!!!!!

I don't know. If the Blue Jackets go to Montreal tomorrow night and win, I'll probably be rooting for them to lose in regulation on friday night, even if it is the Rags. It's only because they'll be the team in better position in the standings to start the game.

We have a tough schedule, yes, but the NYR will be about done if we can beat them again on the 26th. They are running out of games to be able to pass us with otherwise. At this stage, I think we have enough points to be able to afford a hiccup or two against St. Louis and Boston while still keeping the 2nd seed. We need to continue to bring it full throttle, we just can't count on walking in and beating those teams on the road.

I know that Crosby had 0 points this weekend against us while Gee had 4 points. :laugh3:

Maybe the Pens are missing a guy like Jordan Staal to neutralize a top scorer for them.

Either way, I am happy for G because this comeback just confirms to the world that finishing third in scoring a couple seasons ago was no fluke. When we're talking top five players in the world right now, he certainly belongs in the conversation. I'll be just about shocked if he doesn't finish off this season second and he'd be giving Crosby a run for his money if it weren't for that hand injury that they definitely downplayed to start the season.

"There are only 3 players who average under 17 minutes a night and are in the top 50 in scoring: Nathan Mackinnon, Wayne Simmonds and Bobby Ryan."

Voracek is tied for 49th in scoring and averages 17:17 per game. He's about as close as you could possibly get to joining that group...lol

Huge win last night. That should've been a desperate team and they definitely have one dominant top line.

I hope the Rangers beat the Jackets in regulation tonight. I'd rather bury the higher ranked and hotter team, then take my chances with the NYR being a point back with two more games played. That seems close, but it's really not.

Either way, if we can beat these guys in the two remaining head to head matchups, they'll never catch us.

I don't think the Rangers can do better than 7-3 to finish off their season with 96 points, so that means if we at least go 7-5, we'll have 97 points and keep them from passing us. The Jackets are in the same boat if they win their next two games, meaning they have to go 9-3 just to get to 96 points.

To me, winning at least 7 of our next 12 should be no trouble at all when you consider how well we're playing, regardless of how rough the schedule looks. Beat the NYR and CBJ and it won't matter at all if we lose to the Atlantic division teams we have coming up or in the rematch with St. Louis and/or Pittsburgh.
