Loved watching the Isles beat down the Rags last night in regulation. It was a 3-3 game late and the Rags had no less than seven men on the ice and got nabbed for it, then the Islanders made them pay to take their first lead of the game and win. Now that second spot is there for the taking and we need two points because Columbus is in position to potentially tie and pass us otherwise.

the key these days is that games don't go to overtime.. doesn't really matter who wins at this point, only 8 points separate 2nd and 8th in the metro so 2 points are bad regardless. just REALLY need teams to finish games in regulation

Yes. I was watching the game deadlocked at three thinking that I'd prefer the Isles win in regulation, but I'd settle for the Rags winning in regulation because it looked like it was going to overtime for sure. That said, the Islanders had the puck in the offensive zone all game long. They're giving everyone fits defensively. Still, I'd rather they stay hot and cool off the rest of the division while we've already finished 3-0-1 against them on the season.

I can't help but feel this is a serious indictment of the GM, Coach, Captain down through the rest of the roster when you're hoping a 4th line guy who plays 7 minutes a game can wake the team the fuck up - especially when that 4th line guy really isn't all that good. Sad state of affairs.
