Not necessarily. We're 12-6-2 across that stretch anyway, so I'll take the offense over the defense any day of the week. We got blown away five times in those 20 games and Emery was the starter in three of them. I think that skews the numbers a bit and I also think we can and will improve defensively. The penalty kill is already quickly becoming one of the best in the Nhl.

I just don't want this team to become too much of a run-and-gun team. Those teams find themselves on the golf course early on in the playoffs. Although, it's great that we're actually able to use the words Flyers and Playoffs in the same sentence again without wanting to puke. :suds:

Based on the track history of this team and it's current players, I never once feared that this team would miss the playoffs yet again. If we had a full season last year, we probably would've made it in then too.

I don't think Berube is happy with the defensive coverage as of late and that will be a focal point moving forward. We're not a run and gun team, but we do have the offense to score a bunch of goals on any given night.

JPM, that Brown versus Volpatti contest looked like MMA. I think Brown got the best of it and sent Volpatti to the locker room with blood flowing voluminously from his nostrils.

I'm still a bit shocked that Nashville matched the offer. Shea Weber is somehow the highest paid player in the Nhl today at $14 million and by a healthy $2 million over the next few guys. That's twice what Rinne is making and the rest of their entire defense (six players) is making less than $9 million in salary altogether this season.

The cap hit they can take, but I didn't think they could handle the shear volume of money they have to pay one guy for about 3-5 years before it significantly decreases.

Although it wouldve been great to get weber his cap hit wouldve hurt us bad over the lifetime of that contract. The trick is to get a weber before he's worth all of the money.

True. Btw las, nothing like spending a day at Barnes&Nobles drinking expensive coffee and shooting the breeze here. I took a morning trip up to west point and holy shit is it a beautiful place. Of course I have my navy tags on my car, but it was all good.:) I love it here. Lots to explore!

Good afternoon boys. I say Flyers win 5-2 today. I'm just hanging out at Barnes and Nobles drinking my gingerbread latte and scoping the bunnies. Lol. Las this is a good time and it's cheap:)

Loved watching the Isles beat down the Rags last night in regulation. It was a 3-3 game late and the Rags had no less than seven men on the ice and got nabbed for it, then the Islanders made them pay to take their first lead of the game and win. Now that second spot is there for the taking and we need two points because Columbus is in position to potentially tie and pass us otherwise.
