Division Update:

CBJ blew a 3-1 lead and lost to STL 4-3 in OT

Devils shutout Tampa 3-0

Carolina won in Phoenix 3-1

With the games in hand we have on everyone minus the Caps, we're right in the middle of the race for the 2nd and 3rd seeds in the division, especially with a win today. I also think that this is a game we've probably had circled on our calender for about six weeks. Time to avenge that 0-7 thrashing and prove how much we've grown since.

I'll actually be shocked if we don't see two of the better games we've played this season in the next two games. This series is extremely meaningful and our whole franchise knows it.

Oh yeah definitely - these games are huge - they need to play a strong game on the road today, it seems like a while since they last played a consistenly good road game

Seven straight wins at home, including a couple of impressive ones over the second seeds in each eastern division. That's right, we're 7-0 on home ice since Giroux scored his first goal on November 9th. Bring on the home games!!

One point that maybe some of us have lost track of is that Detroit and Toronto are struggling so mightily that both wild card spots are now up for grabs. Yes, they are 3 and 5 points ahead of us, but we have two games in hand and are winning more frequently. The Leafs and Wings have a combined 15 wins over the last month and a half. We have 12 over the same stretch.

I don't think the Atlantic division is a lock to take both wild cards anymore, so we may have that to fall back on regardless.

Panthers are only six points out of the second wild card, that goes to show you how the standings are coming a long way

Flyers just need to take care of business - I do think they're better than Carolina(who is one point ahead of the Flyers), Columbus and New Jersey - the Rangers it is a toss up - so we'll see what happens

It wasn't a boarding penalty though, it was charging and that's exactly what Tom Wilson did

Agreed - that cap hit isn't very friendly - he's a great PP guy and offensive mind but defensively he's not the best

i'd do it. he's a bonafide #1 offensively and passable defensively. any time you're 'bonafide #1' anything defensively, it's expensive

i hate his guts and would hate to trade with the pens, but the flyers definitely win that trade IMO.

That's my thought
