I'd say that everyone minus Voracek has started to find their scoring touch by now. Schenn and Simmonds are due for another, but they still both produced well throughout November. There's plenty of offense on this team even minus Lecavalier. Eight other forwards can put the puck in the net on any given night and that's not including any scoring we could potentially get from the defense (6 goals this season).
Either way, with Mason yet to allow more than three goals as a Flyer combined with our scoring rate of 3.67 per game over his last nine starts, we're not going to lose many games in which he gets the nod. Consequently, we are 7-1-1 across that stretch.
Cap is projected to go up $7mil next year.
Say no to Phaneuf, Girardi, Vanek, or Gaborik. Bank it for 2015 and bring Bobby Ryan home.
I would love for them to have Bobby Ryan, but also, they can't just assume that's who they're going to get, they need to have a plan incase they don't get him - you can't go empty handed like they did in the 2012 offseason
Steve Mason gave up three goals or fewer in his first 27 straight games played in as a Flyer. In two games played since, he has given up four goals consecutively to the Stars and Senators.
And yet Jason Akeson isn't getting a shot - makes no sense
IMO McGinn should be playing in Hartnells spot in 5 on 5 situations.

agree on both accounts. at some point you have to see if akeson can create enough offense to make up for his defensive liabilities in the NHL. i want to see him in the NHL.
i'm not a huge mcginn supporter, but hartnell (and his linemates) are useless 5 on 5.
Need to make a 2 for 1 trade where the Flyers trade two guys and get one back so they can create roster spots for younger guys
And I'm not a huge supporter of Tye McGinn either, but anything to get Scott Hartnell off the ice is a benefit
