Lol. DK is one of the worst beat writers in the country. He's easily worse than panotch, who is also a joke.

What's up boys! Anything new going on? I see that the Flyers got a rare win at Joe Louis Arena the other night. It's time to get on another hot streak.

I'd say that everyone minus Voracek has started to find their scoring touch by now. Schenn and Simmonds are due for another, but they still both produced well throughout November. There's plenty of offense on this team even minus Lecavalier. Eight other forwards can put the puck in the net on any given night and that's not including any scoring we could potentially get from the defense (6 goals this season).

Either way, with Mason yet to allow more than three goals as a Flyer combined with our scoring rate of 3.67 per game over his last nine starts, we're not going to lose many games in which he gets the nod. Consequently, we are 7-1-1 across that stretch.

Zac Rinaldo should send Shawn Thornton some gifts after Thornton took all the attention away from him for what he did tonight

This is a fucking fail on my part...LOL

As far as Rinaldo is concerned, you wonder what the fuck Roussel said or did to infuriate him so fucking quickly to the point of just jumping him and throwing punches. I would bench Rinaldo for at least a game for that shit. It's unacceptable.

Horrible weekend for my sports teams. Unreal. Not one of my teams won. My Buckeyes pissed away a chance for the Natty ( probably a good thing) bc FSU looks unbeatable anyway. Sixers suck as usual, the Flyers are still struggling at .500. Wtf?

Cap is projected to go up $7mil next year.

Say no to Phaneuf, Girardi, Vanek, or Gaborik. Bank it for 2015 and bring Bobby Ryan home.

I would love for them to have Bobby Ryan, but also, they can't just assume that's who they're going to get, they need to have a plan incase they don't get him - you can't go empty handed like they did in the 2012 offseason

Even if Ryan was signed long term in Ottawa I'd be hesitant to sign any of Phaneuf, Girardi, Vanek, or Gaborik. None of them are long term solutions for us

Girardi at 4 and vanek at 4.5 I'd be good with.

Seeing as how they'll both probably get 6+, no thank you.

Flyers one point back of the Devils and two points behind Carolina/Rangers for third place in the Metro

It'd be nice to have a three or more game winning streak - next game in Chicago will be tough obviously

WTF Stat of the Day

Steve Mason gave up three goals or fewer in his first 27 straight games played in as a Flyer. In two games played since, he has given up four goals each to the Stars and Senators, including a stretch where he gave up three goals in 1:02.

:wtf2:

It was bound to happen, but also the defense needs to be better in front of him and not overskate(Mark Streit) or turn it over, which leads to odd man rushes - you can't continue to do that and expect any goalie to stop the puck over and over again

And yet Jason Akeson isn't getting a shot - makes no sense

IMO McGinn should be playing in Hartnells spot in 5 on 5 situations.

I do agree with Tye McGinn - he isn't the end all be all but I'd rather see him play than Scott Hartnell, period

agree on both accounts. at some point you have to see if akeson can create enough offense to make up for his defensive liabilities in the NHL. i want to see him in the NHL.

i'm not a huge mcginn supporter, but hartnell (and his linemates) are useless 5 on 5.

Need to make a 2 for 1 trade where the Flyers trade two guys and get one back so they can create roster spots for younger guys

And I'm not a huge supporter of Tye McGinn either, but anything to get Scott Hartnell off the ice is a benefit

the roster spots are already there IMO.. rinaldo and especially rosehill are not needed on the NHL squad. move raffl down to the 4th line and you have a defensively capable 4th line with a little energy (rinaldo) and you have an opening in the top 6, at least until vinny gets back. what a perfect opportunity to give a guy (akeson) that can "only play in the top 6" a shot to see what hes capable of. i would love to see

hartnell.giroux.akeson
simmonds.schenn.voracek
read.coots.downie
rinaldo.hall.raffl

for a few games. and i wouldn't be opposed at all to mcginn replacing rinaldo.

i dont understand why akeson never gets a shot. i dont expect massive things from the guy, but he's got loads of offensive talent, why not see if it works? what do you have to lose?
