KC sucks at yards per carry (20th vs Niners’ 8th), so our resident moron is clinging to some cherry-picked, non-stat to make himself feel better for 3 more days until the Niners bitch-slap the Chiefs by double digits. :heh:

NO way the 49ers win by double digits.

I'll update the avatar bet thread.

The anti-intellect is strong in this one when he still can't explain what makes DVOA so bad.

It's as if he doesn't actually have an argument and just wants to talk shit.

And when you look at the losses this season the first game against Seattle he drove down to tie the game to send it to OT and he drove the ball down into FG range that was missed.

Jimmy got some volume in that first match up vs Seahawks. 46 attempts. His stats took a dive that game as a result. 52% completion percentage, his lowest of the season. Averaged 5.4 yards on passes , again a low for the season. He had 2 fumbles and interception and should of had 3 interceptions except defenders dropped the ball even though the ball hit them in the hands. He did drive them for a FG attempt in OT , to redeem himself for a otherwise poor game. Yes he was missing Kittle and that's big, because he really counts on Kittle to turn short completions into monster gains.

And they lost Sanders early in the game which changed everything. Sanders was a big part of the game plan. They only had Samuel left. The other two they had to rely on in that game, Goodwin and Pettis, are in the coach's doghouse and total non-factors this season.

...plus they dropped somewhere around 9 passes that night....

Defense-adjusted Value Over Average

DVOA calculates a team's success based on the down-and-distance of each play during the season, then calculates how much more or less successful each team is compared to the league average. (Football Outsiders)

So it's a stat that calculates all things being equal, and in the end, the 49ers have an average rushing attack, with the Chiefs being just one spot behind?

I think Pettis dropped a couple of crucial ones

Deebo, even with the numbers posted, dropped at least one big one. They calculated something over 100 yards worth of drops on that night.

49ners run game is better than the Chiefs, the Chiefs offense overall is better than the niners though. Cheifs just have to be careful with time of possession in this one, so they really do need to get something out of their run game. Will be interesting to see if they give Shady a shot, he should be pretty well rested and has to be pumped for his first SB.

T.O.P. I'll go along with, though the Chiefs do have quick strike ability...

but man, Shady gives me ulcers when he carries the ball...

it's funny how analytics have taken over everything in sports...

football, basketball, all have pretty much become reliant on them...

Umm, Tyreek's first offense is unquestioned.

According to a Stillwater Police Department arrest report, his girlfriend at the time, Crystal Espinal, showed up in an emergency room with cuts and bruises on her face and neck. (The officer who filed the report noted that her lip was busted, that she was wincing with pain and that the mark under her eye was turning purple as she spoke.) Espinal, who was eight weeks pregnant at the time, said Hill had grabbed her neck with his hands, pinned her against the wall and then thrown her to the ground like a “rag doll.” She told an officer that Hill had picked her up by her hair and put her in a headlock. After Espinal had screamed “I can’t breathe” several times, she alleged, he released her, then sat on top of her, punching her in the stomach.

In August, Hill, whose original lawyer had dropped his case, citing his inability to pay, pleaded guilty to domestic abuse. He signed a statement admitting he had put Espinal in a headlock during a physical fight and received a deferred prison sentence of three years. He agreed to sign up for an anger management course and a batterers program, and promised that he’d enroll in school or work a full-time job.

yeah, my bad...

was thinking of the child abuse one...

At least if ticket sales are any indication that is:

As Super Bowl tickets climb into historical territory, data is pointing to the 49ers as the 'home' crowd

In a way it's a bit surprising. KC is at least geographically closer to Miami, which might account otherwise for a bit more cross country car traffic. And you'd think with not having played in a Super Bowl for 50 years, that would be incentive enough for Chiefs fans to scarf up tickets by the droves. But then again, there is a ton of $$$ in that Silicon Valley part of the Bay Area, so cost is certainly no object with the Niners crowd.

Nah

those redneck motherfuckers are too busy creating memes and buying tshirts
