And who was in charge of the cap?
Bullshit question but here is a legitimate one.

Would you have rather they won the Super Bowls when they did and had the best run ever while doing it, or been an also ran during that time while still being an also ran now?

It's not a bullshit question, it's a legit question you avoided. BB was the GM and responsible for the cap situation. He was far and away a better coach than GM, he stumbled on the greatest QB of all time in round six. People stayed and came not because he was a great GM but because they wanted to play with the greatest. So yeah of course Ill take the Lombardi's but lets not pretend it was because BB was a masterful GM

It's a bullshit question because it's obvious. What is there to avoid?
BB was the GM and responsible for the cap situation.
If he had not redone contracts creating the dead money so that he could bring in players that would contribute they would not have won the last three Super Bowls. He said so himself.

Every Coach that has won 1 or 6 Super Bowls has stumbled onto the QB that helped get them there. Well...except for Billick and Dilfer maybe...

Many of the players that went there said they went there because they wanted to play for the greatest.

Let's also not pretend that Tom Brady did it all. Let us also not pretend that BB's GM ways didn't contribute any less than his coaching. He managed the roster with people who could and would utilize what he coached in practice to execute on game days.

Defense was a huge part of the first Super Bowl with a roster BB mostly inherited. The last Super Bowl was won also with a huge contribution of the defense that was built roster built all by BB.

It took a team. A team including a front office, coaches and players.

Well it appears your mind is made up and closed. So what's the point? I won't banter back and forth when the current state of the Pats for the past five plus years was on him.

Okay, let's calm down. Bill Belichick had no idea how the cap worked in 2001 and was fortunate enough that this guy came out of a crack in the wall.

Miguel Benzan is known as the foremost authority on the New England Patriots' salary cap. He created patriotssalarycap.com and has become the foremost expert on anything and everything to do with the Patriots' Salary Cap.

He's not a Patriots' employee but is completely funded by the Kraft Corporation.
