Could the C's trade for Paul George, sign Hayward then will have the 1,2,and 3 as all star players with Al as a good starting Center but will need to find a PF for cheap.

Trade Rumor:
And with many tradeable assets at their disposal…a proposed trade deal is suggesting that the Boston Celtics will send Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk plus four future draft picks to the Indiana Pacers for Paul George.

Got to think they could be. I think they trade their #1 pick for George or Butler. Could supplant Cleveland as the best team in the East as soon as next year.

Amir and Kelly are free agents

They don't need to if they can get Hayward to come play for his college coach. Then they keep that #1 as well.

I would hope people would want to get back to a competitive NBA and multiple rivals with talent spread out throughout the league with LESS "SuperTeams"

Boston could become a super team and I would be absolutely fine with it. Why? Because it would have been built, the way I would like teams to turn into super teams. Boston is ran by arguably the best GM in Ainge. Also really like Brad Stevens.

If Boston suddenly climbs into the driver seat in the East and starts winning ECF titles or NBA titles, it would have been from them building their team and not buying their team.

Boston is constructed more similar to the Spurs and Pistons teams that made the Finals, strong at every spot with no dead spots and great depth, but no stars but not as strong as those teams.

Boston as currently constructed is going ... nowhere. However, they have Jaylen Brown and the #1 pick this year, and probably a Top 3 pick next year.

By the time this years top pick and next years high pick join the team, and assuming Jaylen Brown is worth anywhere near what he was drafted, and they get a few years to mature, it's 2020.

Indy laughs at that trade.

Everyone forgetting the Pelicans. They currently have the best C and PF in the league.
Just add another star and you got a team better than the Cavs

Still wouldnt be a superteam. IT isnt a star, he has only had one great season. Heyward is a very good player, not a star.

I don't know about better than the Cavs but add Chris Paul and you may have a 5-6 seed in the West.

Indy laughs at that trade.

It's either that or lose him for nothing. The longer they hold out the less likely they'll get anything in return. Many teams are willing to wait it out so they don't have to give up anything. Also the C's have a stockpile of draft picks at their disposal. They have the first overall, their own first and second and then multiple firsts and seconds next season. Indy would be fools to just let the guy walk for nothing.

Here's a list of all the draft picks the C's acquired from 2015-2019. I don't think any other team has more draft picks than the C's do with 22 picks in a 5 year span. DAMN

2015:2 first-round picks; 3 second-round picks
2016: 4 first-round picks; 4 second-round picks
2017: 1 first-round pick; 2 second-round picks
2018: 2 first-round picks; 1 second-round pick
2019: 2 first-round picks; 1 second-round pick

I would love to see that but now way CP3 and Cousins can play together.
Can't think of any other PG that could complement the 2 big men as good as cp3 can

So here’s a potential deal to ponder:

CELTICS GET . . .

  • Paul George

PACERS GET . . .

  • 2018 Brooklyn pick
  • Terry Rozier
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Tyler Zeller

Boston would be giving too much here. That 2018 Nets pick is still highly valuable. They will be the worst team again. Also, the Celtics are high on Rozier and Brown. Think they would rather trade Crowder, and may even prefer to deal Bradley because of Rozier's contract.

This deal would be better, IMO:

2018 pick
Avery Bradley
Tyler zeller

Can't overpay for George. He is very good, not great.
