after the last 2 SBs the Pats were in, they took it back.
The last SB was just James white going into beast mode. Dude was untouchable like Elliot Nest

Too soon to trash his last two picks though. Players can end up turning into great players later like butler did. Smart did show some flashes in the postseason too. But with that being said how the picks turn out will be irrelevant if they acquire the two all stars. If they do become great players that's just icing on the cake.

That being said, how does bringing in Butler/Hayward impact their ability to develop Smart/Brown?

It's true that they won't be getting as many minutes if Butler and Hayward didn't join the C's but players can still improve during the off season and in practice. Also, both have a chance to get 6th man minutes (around 20 per game). Then in five years the goal is to have those players playing at the same level or close to the same level as Butler/Hayward and then trade away Butler/Hayward. Their minutes will increase as they get better as well.

They might have a chance to get to .500 in 3 years if everyone stays healthy.

They could make the playoffs THIS season

Although they may try to tank out of it.

Too young, inexperienced and injury prone IMO. They would have to prove it for me to ever believe they could make it this season. C's, Raptors, Bucks, cavs and the Wizards are all locks IMO. They were second to last in 2016 so it would be a minor miracle to go from that to the postseason.

You did not watch this team compete in January when Embiid was healthy and had some experience in him.
Add Simmons and Fultz to that equation and I'm feeling pretty good about our chances.

What would you set their over/under on wins at?

Pretty sure Tim Duncan was a star. 2x MVP and 10x All-NBA 1st teamer.

I meant the Spurs teams a few years ago. Duncan was already pretty old and Kahwi hadn't become a full blown star yet.

I think it's going to be set at 38. I'll take the over.

Ah, I misread your post. Thought you were talking about the team that played the Pistons in the Finals.

You must really not like them. Within 3 years, if healthy, they will be running the east. I would not trade this current 76'er team for any team in the league except Golden State.

The SuperTeam Cavs becoming more "super" now that it looks like the Pussy Jimmy Butler is going to take the Easy Way out

They did keep their own future picks out of the Boston trade. I wouldn't rule out a tank if the season starts poorly or injuries pop up again.

You shouldn't, you're a fan. The Celtics have a path to be pretty strong as well, and the Bucks have nearly as many young assets as the Sixers. The East could actually become competitive.

Both would depend on what happens with IT and Bradley (if not involved in a Butler trade) in free agency next year. I would think Ainge is smart enough to not max either to keep them, but my Celtic hatred is fighting me lol.

IT is Iverson-lite.
Very difficult to build a championship team around a smaller play with a max contract.
You'll win a bunch of games, but the playoffs are a different beast altogether, especially if other teams target him on illegal picks.
The Celtics needs size, but that's next draft and they could possibly draft #1 and #2.
