That's a perfect reason not to go with him. If he makes his OC a puppet, then he is not paying attention to the rest of the team. Did you not notice how bad our defense an special teams were? We need a head coach and leader, not two OCs.

if you pick an OC or a DC as the new coach there is always the chance the opposite side of the ball will get neglected unless you hire a strong coordinator

Duke, where do we need more work, and thus what type of coach should we have.

Most would say our weakness is defense and thus we need a defensive minded coach. Im a fan of McDermott. He will fix the defense. Im fine with bringing in a very good OC. But I dont want a coach who might ignore the defense. Aside from maybe Marty, when is the last time we have had a defensive minded coach in DC?? We have had plenty of offense first coaches and it has failed. Also thinking we dont need to bring in a coach who's only mission will be to prove RG3 was worth the trade. Thus Im hoping we end up with a younger defensive coach as our head coach. Fix the defense and go from there.

Im thinking the best guy will be a defensive minded coach though. Because an offensive coach is likely to come in and want to put more resources into the offense. We have tried relying on the offense and it has failed spectacularly. And from what i hear of Bevell, there are mixed reviews on if he is that qualified to be a head coach.

Apparently we will interview Caldwell tomorrow. That will get our mandatory minority interview out of the way. So going forward there wont be any league requirements stopping us from making a coach an offer.

If they just wanted it out the way why didn't they just interview Raheem Moore
