So here it is and the only positive is that by starting this I can only cost us 2 losses if I have bad mojo. Go Rangers farm hands, hope you all get some great big league experiences this year and it doesn't stunt your growth potential.

If they could leave Stanton here.... that'd be great. kthx.

Fernandez too while they're at it. (he'd fit right in with all the DL peeps)

Rangers RHP Colby Lewis (4-4, 5.77 ERA) will be making his 11th searching for his first quality start. He is the only pitcher in the majors with at least 10 starts this season and no quality starts. Lewis has made it through six innings just once and has allowed five or more runs in four of his last six outings. Among the 61 AL pitchers with at least 50 innings this season, Lewis ranks third from the bottom in ERA and next-to-last in opponents batting average (.338)

doesn't bode well me thinks

Probably not how Colby expects to perform but had the rotation played out as expected after the first month, getting Harry back and before Derek trips over the dog. Colby would just be the #5 or maybe pitching out of the BP and not be needed as badly. I have to say the fact he is pitching at all with a new hip and being the only guy to have ever done it so far, I didn't expect much. Would be nice though to see him progress. The rotation is going to be a huge issue next year as well

Choo is in a 2-for-32 skid, WOW I knew he had been having a rough go of it lately but didn't realize it was quite that rough

The rotation will need YU but will he want to be a part of this rotation? I'm very concerned if we don't lock him in he will be pitching for a team that has a better chance of play off's.

I think Yu will opt out of the 6th year on his current contract. I have a feeling Yu will at the very least see what kind of offers are out there and when that happens the Dodgers or the Yankees will have a new possible perennial Cy Young winning pitcher in their rotation. Remember we won the bidding for Yu but we were also contenders when we signed him, it seems we are at the very least a couple years away from that now with the current starting pitching landscape we have. Unless Daniels can pull off something amazing with a ton of money to lock him up while we get through the tough times

:agree:.....voiced this very concern just yesterday.

If you're him, how confident would you be today on our future? The rotation is a wreck, and unless Fielder comes back 100% our RBI vacuum will continue.

Of course, we've been bitten by a den of snakes for this season, but who knows what rabbits JD & ownership are going to pull outta their hats over the next 12 months. But they best be some rather large rabbits at this point.

If JD gets a hint of this happening of Yu wanting to test the waters, he better trade Yu and get a package of the best major league ready young pitching talent out there. I wouldn't think Yu would want to leave. He has a level of comfort here, but this is a business.

Keep an eye on the Price happenings with Tampa Bay. They too are clearly out of it and will try to do the same.

Clearly with the signing of Choo and the Fielder trade we are still in a win now situation and JD should try to surround Yu with a compitative rotation while Yu is still here.

The Rangers recalled Brad Snyder from Triple-A Round Rock, and he'll bat sixth and play first base Tuesday against the Marlins. Snyder hit 284 with 18 homers and 51 RBI in 61 games for Round Rock.

I agree with ya on the opting out. However, how much money Daniels offers isn't going to be the only consideration IMO. My guess is, someone - maybe more than one - team will offer him in the $200 mil range. And I don't doubt that we can be financially competitive.

My concern today is, are we going to field a competitive team for next season before he can opt?

Good information, thanks. Did they ship Robertson out?

Swear....was thinking the same about Yu.

I read Price's speed is down this year and this is very concerning for trade purposes.

As far as the rotation for next season, Yu, Holland to begin the season. But we need to sign a good SP to be the # 3, with Lewis/Tep/Martinez/Saunders taking up the 4/5 slots to start the season. If Perez comes back and pitches decent the 2nd half of next season, which really isn't out of the attainable range, then we aren't in a bad shape with Yu, Holland, Perez, (Shields maybe), and whomever at # 5 by seasons end.
