I get that, but Rua is 24 and Adams is 27 or so. You've got to start the clock and find out what you've got at some point. Now seems like a perfect time when we're not competing for a playoff spot.

I don't know much about Adams but I think with Rua they would like to get him some more time at 1B at the lower levels before adding him to the ML roster. He will be trying to learn a new position and adjusting to big league pitching at he same time, it can be a lot to take on at once. I do share the excitement of him having a good season so far and wanting to see him on a daily basis soon. Time will tell, players are dropping like flies. May have to call guys up out of pure necessity if they are the only ones left in the system healthy

It starts with Elvis and Leonys IMO, and every starter. I don't expect much from C or 1B, but EA and Leonys should be doing more.

When the 100+ million dollar guy is being out played by the 20 year old there could be a call for him to step it up you think? Leonys has improved on defense but he needs to progress with the bat and its slow going for him in that regard

They seem to shuffle them out at 1B in Frisco. Smolinski is starting tonight. All 3 of them have hit well on the year. Maybe they're testing them out to see if any of them stand out in the field.

He has been much better playing the ball in the air, but his throws have been worse, and it's cost us quite a bit. He's airmailing the catcher and throwing to the wrong base. He's not the only one.

OT:

I wondered what Bob Welch died of? I can't find it anywhere, he was only 57
that's sad.

There is about 2/3 of a season for some players to start making some progress in certain aspects of the game before being evaluated for the long term one would think

They better do as you say here and get at least one very good SP. Preferably through free agency so we could keep our prospects. We don't know what we will be getting from Holland and he's sporadic at beast.

And it's hard telling when Perez comes back

We were talking about insurance policies, I'd bet anything there's one with Fielder's contract.
In case we get the worst news

Imagine a lineup...

Choo
Odor
Stanton
Fielder
Gallo
Choice
Alfaro
Andrus
Martin

I can dream....

(Profar would be used to acquire Stanton in this hypothetical... Otherwise I might switch Elvis and Pro out)

I've never been as high on Profar as most so I was all for the Stanton trade. I just didn't want Perez included. That opportunity is long gone though.

The ump set that Stanton hit up. He should have been a K victim.
