Now that the Lakers are in the official summer, there is a three-team trade that is gaining traction because the Nets already are disgusted with Ben Simmons antics. I am not sure getting rid of Westbrook for a younger version like Simmons is the right way to go but all three teams in this proposed trade are trying to move unwanted players. The three teams are the Nets, the Knicks, and the Lakers.

I like Simmons as a fit in a Dray type role, but that contract level is excessive for that role.

That is an awful trade for the Lakers.

Yea it is but at this point, to move Westbrook, the Lakers may have to bite the proverbial bullet. That's why bad trades suck. The ripple-effect of consequences long into the future continue to keep on giving. This Westbrook mess is similar to the Luol Deng and other stupid signings under short Buss and now his sister is just as stupid.

I agree with Stephen A at this point. It is time to move along from James and Klutch Sports and recoup their legacy that has been hi-jacked by a bunch of power-intoxicated knuckleheads.

Saw that DJ. And now I know for certain that Jeannie Buss is as dumb as her brothers.

This sentiment is gaining alot of traction even though Jeannie has already stated she would not trade James if he doesn't sign an extension this summer or I presume next year when his contract finally does expire.

I understand the sentiment, but if he's not staying, they need to clear the deck and rebuild. I don't see any difference makers out there on the 2023 FA market (largely because the big fish will most likely be locked up already). Better to try to trade for assets before they become free agents and build around them in FA. I don't see AD's injury history luring big name FAs to the Lakers as I once hoped. Of course, if he ball's out this year, that could change.

Dunnyif I want Space Case playing for the Lakers...
He and James won a title together. And James could concede being the #1 guy to a younger Irving. Be in LeBron's best interest to elongate his career.

They'd also have to flip RW for some players obviously. No way KI and RW could coexist.

Cross-off Mike Brown from the list of potential head coaches for the Lakers. He has taken the Kings job.
