But you got a ring, so it’s worth it.

Now try being the saints the last few years and getting nothing
That was because the Rams had built a solid team with what are considered pedestrian players from the draft pundits perspectives then added FAs at the right time. They gave-up a ton of draft capital and they drafted well. But now, they are screwing things up because they restructured contracts to milk every bit of money they can get to sign the next big FA like Mathieu from the Chiefs but they have now hit the wall.

They can't extend everyone and still sign these top FAs and they have lost once already and are about to lose Mathieu because they don't have the money to pay him what he wants. It was the same reason they lost Von Miller.

The Rams did however, wait out their string of bad contracts that saddled them with 35 mil in dead money. Those contracts have been completed and come off the books this year, but they remain hamstrung until the cap increase next year and hopefully no more dead money.

Gonna catch any of the USFL game tonight @Retroram52?

I am. Flip back and forth between it and the NBA playoff game at that time slot.
Don't know. If I am not busy I might check out the reincarnated USFL (useful).

The Lakers could do a number of things to have a really good roster around AD and James (if he stays), but the FO is too stupid and dysfunctional and Pelinka is a douchebag, so it ain't happening!

Here are the real goods on ten NBA dirtbags whose contracts are untradeable. Hayward and Wall are on the list which is evidence that your favorite trade, DJ, is definitely the trade the Lakers should make to move Westbrook, who is also on the list. The two trades that are best for the Lakers are the Indiana one with Brogden and Hield coming to the Lakers for Westbrook. or Westbrook and some draft capital going to Detroit for Jermi Grant. See for yourself.

Gordon is serviceable but he's in the Wall/Westbrook mold. Nwaba started with the Lakers. Don't know much about Wood but looks like three are bench players. Sure, it gets Westbrook gone but the return is meh when you can get the following. The best trade is what DJ has been suggesting. Westbrook and maybe a number one to Indiana for Brogdon and Hield. Or Westbrook and a Number one to Detroit for Jermi Grant.

Looks as though the Westbrook for Hayward trade to Charlotte is dying or permanently dead as the Lakers have made a decision on that particular trade.

Nunn keeps thinking his knee is going to heal and he recently re-upped. It ain't and the doctors have told him so. Why they keep this guy around is beyond me.
Covington missed an extended amount of time with a knee bone bruise injury and would be a potential comparison as to a return for Nunn. Covington got hurt 1/4/19 and wasn't ready until preseason.

If the doctors tell you that your bone is not making any progress and you haven't made any progress for a year, the medical probability is not on your wishful thinking side and the prognostications by those same doctors are very dependable at this point in Nunn's so-called recovery.

Nunn will need maybe several years recovery. What he should do is step away from basketball until the bone is completely healed and the Lakers should not be allowing him to re-up just to take up a roster spot hoping that will be the difference to get is knee bruise to heal.

Nurse, Quinn, and Rivers will be considered by the Lakers to be HC candidates if they become available but right now they are not canidates for a variety of reasons. They are now joined by Juann Howard , who is letting the Lakers indirectly know that he's not leaving Michigan for the Lakers job.

Two available guys who are being considered are Scott Brooks and Alex Jensen. Brooks has been around (OKC, Wiz) and Jensen who is an assistant on the Quin Snyder staff.

I have to question where this info is being leaked from, as targeting employed coaches makes no sense whatsoever. Howard just got suspended last season for a physical altercation. Even the assistants they've named are in the playoffs. I'd rather not go with Brooks either. Sam Cassell should be a target.

Yahoo Sports and venues like it are the ones writing this stuff and it is probably coming from someone in the FO is my guess.

Here are some involving the future Lakers roster as the Lakers continue to try to keep Monk. Looks like the possibility Monk stays is increasing.

Now the pro basketball sports pundits are suggesting that the Lakers trade Max McClung and some other assets to the Jazz for Jordon Clarkson. I disagree. McClung is a keeper. He is going to be a good-to-great player if the Lakers just slow down a bit.

If the Utah Jazz blow things up after the post season, the Lakers won't have the resources for Gobert or Mitchell. So just chill for cryin-out-loud. Trading McClung for Clarkson is doing the same thing when Clarkson was a rook with the Lakers. It would be stupid to then go after McClung two years from now with additional assests. Stupid indeed.

Because it was his option to stay because he knows he won’t get mle money on the fa market again with a bum knee

Right now he’s just salary matching fodder for a trade

Yea. I see that he has already been mentioned in several Lakers trade scenarios that may or may not develop in the future.
