It doesn't appear that the Lakers are going to trade James anywhere unless he demands it. He'll play out his contract this season and then changes will occur. Now he has already stated several times that he will let the FO "do its thing" but he can't help himself and the next moment he is back offering suggestions and telling people what he wants to play with in the coming season. I think the man is obsessed with his own ego and can't let things go even after 19 years in the league.

So, does this mean he's going to force a trade elsewhere, stump for team improvements, or force through another roster-crippling trade for one of his friends?
Idk.

He didn't say.

The most important thing they can do right now is trade Westbrook for players that compliment the team, rather than just try to find the best available.

Shooting, rebounding and defense was absolutely abysmal this season.

A lot of the roster will turn over, but Westbrook is definitely the big move needed.

If Shaq gets the nod at HC, Westbrook won't be going anywhere.

I am not be surprised by anything this dysfunctional Lakers franchise does these days.

To be honest I don't see the Lakers being as dysfunctional as others may claim.

Two years ago they won the title. Injuries really fucked them up in the 2020/21 season as well as the shortest offseason in professional sports history for the Lakers.

This last season Pelinka had a chance to get Westbrook and rolled the dice on that. Clearly it didn't work out but I wouldn't necessarily call the Front Office dysfunctional because of it.

I would. The difference between now and then is the addition of Kurt Rambis as a more influential voice than Linda in the Team Rambi order.

To me one of the keys to the lakers offseason should be only giving up one first in a Russ deal so they can use the other first with nunn and tht

Then bang out your mle and find cheap centers (since brow and even bron will spend some time there) and move on.

Idk what seconds you have but even something like nunn and cash or a few 2s into Justin holiday is a reasonable move

In anticipation of Summer, the Lakers' FO (probably Team Rambi) is pointing fingers in the new season of the blame game at Klutch Sports for the Westbrook debacle. What a joke this franchise has become again under the reigns of yet another one of the Buss brats.

But I was told Jeannie was a genius

Nope

She just lucky bron wanted to make space jam 2

She used to be a genius until the Rambi moved in. Now she is an idiot.

Maybe the real reason behind the dysfunction of the Lakers FO is the power Klutch Sports is allowed to exert over the Lakers. According to this article, they are now influencing who will be the next HC like Nurse and Mark Jackson, both clients of the now famous pro sports agency.
