Yeah, Simmons would be good with James and AD.
Actually after thinking about it.....it would not be very good at all.

He can't shoot and he needs the ball in his hands. He doesn't work with Bron or AD. Whoever came up with this scenario doesn't understand basketball.

She used to be a genius until the Rambi moved in. Now she is an idiot.

You wanna see idiots

Look at what the lakers did post Shaq signing with la

They’re lucky that basically Shaq/kobe and 3 guys from the local ymca could win a title

Glen Rice helped us win a title.

And he fit better since he was an outside shooter, love Eddie Jones and while he could shoot....he was more of a slasher to the basket type.

Rice was a good add in theory on his own. But he also left after one year

The lakers had quite a few chances and kept making mistakes 1996 was basically the only reason for all 3 titles fisher Kobe Shaq lol

Probably could’ve won 5 or 6 in a row with even average gm work beyond that

I forgot he was there for the half season

Not bad.

Idk it always felt like the lakers pissed away so many chances to keep that tema going.

I’m curious who they were using their mid level exception on during those years

Horace grant was a good move. Glen rice was ok

But man the rest of the team/bench was this years lakers bad

Fox, Horry and Fisher were all crucial pieces.....Horace Grant was a good pickup.

Even, Devean George had his moments.

Yeah solid role player, backup guys. I didn’t really include them cause they were there when the jazz were beating their brains in.

You can knock them all you want.....Phil was a great coach (Del was just okay) and they had one of the best 1-2 punches of all time.....

Before you needed a big 3 to win in todays era.

I just said in the other thread Phil > pop

I got nothing but respect for that lakers run

It just felt like such a missed opportunity

Fwiw I liked Kareem rush a lot I thought he was gonna be the glen rice if the 2000s lakers. Huge fan of his.

Brian cook had upside but was also a career underachiever

But madsen and George were technically missed as well imo

If, we had never won with Shaq and Kobe.....you'd have more of a point.

We still managed to do quite well.....despite what you're mentioning.

Yes. You did. What I’m saying is mostly with even average work after 1997 you guys could’ve made the 90s bulls look like the 90s clippers lol

Like the potential to be THAT good and not lose to a bunch of nobodies in 04 was there

Magic and him are my fave players all time.

Lived in North Hills, CA in late 90's with my wife and kids were hollering outside.....I went down to the street and there was a limo.....Shaq was standing through the sun roof and it was wild.

He can't shoot and he needs the ball in his hands. He doesn't work with Bron or AD. Whoever came up with this scenario doesn't understand basketball.

His role has to change in order to stay respected in the league. He can be a secondary point at the forward position, playing primarily off the block. Of course, in the modern age that means needing a C with range on his jumper to help space the floor, which AD can do (but didn't do well last season for whatever reason). Lebron would be on the perimeter more, and the Lakers could fill the 2 guard positions with 3/D players instead of requiring a true starting PG.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter since the Lakers aren't getting Simmons. Interesting to thing about though.
