Then head to Indiana and work the Hield/Turner for Westbrook and two number ones trade that was on the table back in the early part of the summer!

In the NBA thread......

@Mecca brought up a good point.....roll with RW and use the 1st round picks to acquire Hield from Indy and Bog from Utah in separate deals. Gives us 2 really good shooters.

Josh Richardson and Doug McDermott would cost you less.

You don't necessarily need a homerun player like Kyrie.

You need roster balance.

You got younger, more athletic and better defensive players.

Just get guys to spread the floor.

Richardson is expiring.

So, he preserves your cap if you wanna make another run at Kyrie in the Summer.

The problem is that also requires Collins and Romeo just to make it work.

The Lakers probably already know they have move away from expecting Irving to be available soon after the powow the Nets had in LA. So I am pretty sure they will try again to move Westbrook and get some decent players in return before the season starts.

I have said this before but I believe Jeannie Buss would do herself a favor to swallow her pride, call Jerry West to have a face-to-face, and do a mea culpa with the Icon to come back to the Lakers as a the GM. Give him the power to make all personnel decisions and then get out of the way and let him build the 18th Championship team!!
I don’t think Jerry wants to be a GM anymore.

Don’t think he wants the daily grind of it all, which is why he has only accepted advisory roles.

Before Jeannie Buss screwed-him over three time, he mentioned he would enjoy being an advisor to the Lakers.

"Russ, THT and both 1sts for Clarkson, Bogdo and Conley."

G-Conley
G-Clarkson
F-Bog
F-James
C-AD

That's a pretty solid starting 5. They don't need a ton out of Conley....but he, Clark and Bog add some outside shooting. Helps lighten the load on James and AD and Conley is the only old one.

And Bog is expiring, Clark has a player option of 14 mill he could turn down, and Conley is only guaranteed 14 mill his last season.....they could flip him as an expiring deal.

They would have a better chance at competing and then have some cap space next summer.

The Lakers have been mentioned alot in the last 48 hours about trading for Mitchell. The Lakers may be involved in a mega trade involving a couple of teams but none of it will involve anyone from the Nets. I also saw an article suggesting the Lakers will sign Jeremi Grant in a year because that is all he has left on his contract the Trail Blazers got in the trade with Detroit!! We shall see.

Maybe Indiana will get on board and we will end-up with Hield and Turner! Whatever happens, I am fairly certain the Lakers are going to move Westbrook sooner rather than later.

Pat Bev to the Lakers for THT and Stanley Johnson.....no picks involved.....

Hate to see Johnson go but he's replaceable......Beverley is a dog.....a defender that gets after people and can guard the opposing team's best player, as long he isn't a center.

Like that move. Deals are going to start happening now that KD and Irving are staying in BK.

Saw your comment in the NBA thread @Retroram52

Bev is a good pickup. He gives us that PJ Tucker type every team needs....

@Mecca had a brilliant idea in the main NBA thread. I suggested talking to Charlotte about RW and a few picks for Rozier and GH.

"The Bees need a Center.

I could see you splitting the difference in a trade with Indy.

Indy gets Westbrook and a pick from Lakers.

Bees get Turner and sends Indy another 1st.

Lakers get Buddy and Kelly Oubre.

Hayward makes too much."

Johnson was a nice reclamation project last year, hopefully he builds on that in Utah with more opportunity.

Yeah, but Bev was more of a need.....IMO.

Could start or backup PG when we deal Russ.....and he's an enforcer type.....like the move. And I really liked Johnson when he came on.
