Yep, I am with the prevailing reports that have the Lakers moving Westbrook and a Number One to Indiana for either Hield/Turner or if the Bees are involved, Hield/Oubre. I am pretty sure the Lakers got James to sign his extension with the promise of moving Westbrook out the door and now it looks like that will occur at some point.

What are the Lakers doing?

Trying to be the LA Geriatrics?

THT and another player for a 34 yr old Beverly.

Once LeBron is done, there is a MAJOR rebuild coming because they have no young talent to build around.

Crazy!

That was the one concern I had on the deal ALR. Getting rid of two young players for an old dude who can still shoot and play damn good defense. I gave it a MEH rating.

They are clearly trying to win one more with LeBron here with absolutely no eye on the future beyond LeBron.

This is what happens with LeBron on your team. They do everything to try and appease him, and when he leaves, the franchise is complete trash because they have mortgaged everything for him.

Yep ALR, that consequence is a natural result of taking that approach and that is when the Lakers will be forced to be full-on in rebuild mode.

NBC Sports has the situation whittled-down to the basics. Why do I get the distinct impression this is going to be another Nets/Irving/KD soap opera and when the dust settles, Westbrook will stay the season with the Lakers and nothing will happen?

Barrett signed a 4 year deal worth 120 mill.....

C'mon, Pelinka!!!! Get a deal done to land Hield and Bog involving Utah, Indy, NY and the Lakers.

There is a month to go before training camp begins. So the Lakers are going to hold-out until the last minute to see if somebody will make the Westbrook deal without the demand for those two Number Ones.

Yeah, but Bev was more of a need.....IMO.

Could start or backup PG when we deal Russ.....and he's an enforcer type.....like the move. And I really liked Johnson when he came on.

If they had re-signed Caruso, Bev wouldn't be needed. It's funny to hear Pelinka talk about how Bev is just want the team needs only a year after cheaping out on Caruso, a younger version of Bev (minus the bs).

Well here is a former Lakers dude that could be a good role player. The Lakers should sign him.

Meh. He doesn't do anything that Swider already does for cheaper, other than he could play all 82. Svi shot poorly last year, which is why he's available.

Meh, I like Caruso but he ended up being banged up with the Bulls.....doubt that would have changed with the Lakers.

I like Bev for this team.

Name all the Lakers that are over 30. There are only 3, and hopefully one is on his way out via major trade.

Bev is also an expiring contract, clears THT's player option for next year.

The reason the Lakers don't have perceived young talent is because their cap space is tied up in 3 max contract vets.

I'd rather have 28 year old Caruso at less than $10M per for the next few years and still have Johnson as well.

Good for you.

Bev is a better defender than both. Combined.

Just speaking personal preference. I am not a fan of Bev, but can appreciate his talent.

At this point, good trade. Just saying had they signed Caruso, it would've been unnecessary.
