Heh.

That's funny. Hell I've been divorced TWICE, and I'm not as cynical as you.
Having seen my parent's marriage, thank you but no thank you. What did you think of Rear Window by the way?

Rear Window: 1.5/5 stars. So-so performance from an otherwise superb actor in James Stewart. Did not have me on the edge of my seat at any point throughout the film, like many critics have commented. At least for one thing, the movie confirmed my suspicions of marriage: it is a terrible thing that should happen to no one. Wife constantly nagging, kids getting in the way; no thanks. Why anyone would consent to such a thing is beyond my imagination.

????????

Some people think that's one of Hitchcocks best.

As far as marriage goes, it's not all nagging. It can be pretty cool too. Kids can be the most wonderful and unique experiences in your life even when they are a pain in the butt but to each his own,.

Never seen it. I have some B+W gaps in my filmography.

Some of the footage they can do looks fan-fucking-tastic. I've seen some WW2 colorized battle footage that's jaw-dropping.

First you shit on The Godfather now Rear Window

raw

Rear Window starts off as 2.5/5 just by this lady playing in it.

Great scenes, like Grace breaking into his apartment and he comes home and finds her there. Or after talking to his cop friend, their almost convinced that maybe he didn't kill his wife the dog scene happens. Everybody in the apartment complex has a story and you are watching it unfold has much as Grace's and Stewart's. Great cast, great movie.

Still upset about the Lego Batman movie. It seems to have fallen in the same trap as Deadpool where the whole idea is to make fun of cliche action movies and cliche romance movies and then make a movie where the guy gets the girl after beating the bad guy. Deadpool was ridiculously funny, though, and Lego Batman was only occasionally so.

South Park poked at Family Guy in one of its episodes where they pointed out that it was just lazy to just have an entire show of jokes with the plot itself being irrelevant. I feel like movies are now hitting that same Family Guy trend. Lego Batman is self aware enough to let you know that its entire premise is ridiculously dumb but they hope that you'll like it for the jokes. American Dad or even the How it Should Have Ended Batman had more depth than Lego Batman in what it was trying to accomplish.

What made Batman so great was the depth of the universe and Lego Batman never even tried to go into that. Instead its basically the movie Fight Club warns men about.

The Magnificent Seven (2016)

Pretty cool casting dynamic in this movie. Decent acting all around. Never saw the original, but this was an awesome film mainly due to the excellent gun fight sequences. The story felt forced. The reasoning for most of the 7 joining the fight was either obscured or absurd. Didn't really make sense, but thankfully I got over it.

7/10

You should definitely see the original too. A tad dated but it had a lot of famous actors in it before they became famous.
