That Thing You Do.
Been a while since I last saw it. Forgot just how hot Charlize Theron was in that movie.

I hadn't seen this since it aired, and I was just about 4 at the time.

Wow, that was bad. I can't believe that was actually green-lit. Who thought that was going to be good?

Went to see "The Great Wall" Friday night with my grandson.
Was not expecting anything over the top. We went to see it in IMAX 3D.

Was much better than I thought that an ancient alien movie could be. Special effects
and photography were excellent. Story was a bit hokey............

SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Never did learn the "Secret of the Great Wall"

I actually want to adjust my rating to a 3/10. While it is extremely stupid and I don't recommend it, even to staunch SW fans, it does offer a bit of a "day in the life" perspective of life in the Empire when not directly involved in the war.

It also acts as the first appearance of Bobba Fett on screen and the first mentions of Chewies family, which I believe, is considered canon.

The Accountant (2016)

Surprisingly good. Didn't know anything about the movie but from what I could recall from the trailer. Seemed interesting enough, and it was. Reminded me a bit of either The Jackal or Jack Reacher. Pretty cool story, good action scenes, and Affleck did an admirable job. I didn't care for Anna Kendrick's part. That whole side story felt distracting and didn't fit very well. Also, the climax was a predictable turn of events. Felt like the movie deserved something better.

Still an entertaining movie... 7/10

I'd give it about the same rating. I'd read mixed reviews, but the positive reviews intrigued me enough to watch it. I didn't anticipate the twists (if one could call them that) that came up near the end, so those certainly added to the experience for me.

In The Valley Of Violence......

John Travolta and Ethan Hawke in probably the worst modern made movie I have seen. Bad writing, bad acting, the whole nine yards. I wonder why actors of their caliber do movies like this. Maybe they always wanted to do a Western, I dunno.

Good movie. Evolution finds a way. If you've never seen it I think you will like.

I've seen it before......just really bored and need a distraction from my real life.

With all the flashbacks you had to wonder what happened to the Brother... The thought kept popping up in my mind so I saw it coming from about midway.

The same guy who whored out his title to make the prequels, a new trilogy carbon copied off the originals, and other spin off films from the new trilogy just to squeeze out an extra buck. Oh, did I mention UPDATED GRAPHICAL RELEASESSSSS!!!!!

My wife and I love that show. I've read that most of Liv Tyler's role in that film was left on teh cutting room floor. I wonder what they had planned for her.

I watched John Carpenter's Vampires. It wasn't quite as good as I remembered it as it dragged for quite a bit. 2 out of 5 stars.
Condemned 2 - This was one of those that you pretty much knew what you'd be getting and it didn't disappoint. Watched it on Starz OnDemand. Worth a watch but probably wouldn't watch it again. 2.5 out of 5 stars.
John Wick 2 - Saw that earlier. I really enjoyed it but it wasn't quite as good as the first one (that's a very high bar to leap). Still can't wait for a 3rd one. 4 out of 5 stars.

I am watching it now.

Wow, this is bad. But, it is also just about exactly what I expected. I still don't like it.

There's an extended version, but I don't think they got into that. However, there are at least two really worthwhile scenes left in there, one of which was a cameo by an NFL HOF'er.
