Arrival - 2/5

Disappointing. Nothing more I can really say about the movie without giving away spoilers which will ruin the movie from the beginning.

The Accountant (2016)

Surprisingly good. Didn't know anything about the movie but from what I could recall from the trailer. Seemed interesting enough, and it was. Reminded me a bit of either The Jackal or Jack Reacher. Pretty cool story, good action scenes, and Affleck did an admirable job. I didn't care for Anna Kendrick's part. That whole side story felt distracting and didn't fit very well. Also, the climax was a predictable turn of events. Felt like the movie deserved something better.

Still an entertaining movie... 7/10

I've seen The Usual Suspects. Thanks for the heads-up on the other 2.

I think That Thing You Do, LA Confidential, and Forest Gump are my favorite 90's movies. I'm a sucker for movies that take place in the 1950's and 1960's.

The Usual Suspects & Forrest Gump are a couple of the movies that make me stop channel surfing when I find them.

A personal favorite of mine made in the 90s and takes place in the 50s/60s is
A Bronx Tale (1993) - IMDb

If you want something light and funny try
Secondhand Lions (2003) - IMDb

It's not from the 90s but takes place in the 60s with flash backs.

John Wick: 3.5/5 stars. Not bad for a mindless, kill everyone in sight movie. And that's what this movie is. If you think there's anything more pronounced or annunciated in this movie, you're wrong. It's an hour and 41 minutes of Keanu Reeves killing everyone in sight, which is pretty entertaining.

For these type of movies, I like my anti-heroes to have more motive (Liam Neeson in Taken, 4/5 stars); and I like my anti-heroes to be less humanized and talkative (Ryan Gosling in Drive, 4/5 stars). I also like my foreign villain to be more hammy and use a little more over-acting (Gary Oldman in Leon The Professional, 2/5 stars, but not his fault).

You hit it exactly right.........The movie was kill kill kil and lets kill some more.................there was so much killing going on that it got boring for me.

I give it a 3 of 5.

I tried to watch the "Usual Suspects",but turned it off while they picking someone out of a line-up somewhere at the very beginning of the movie..............I`ll have to try it again.lol
Oh, yeah....you have to get past "Give me the keys, Motha F*ka". It starts a little slow but is worth it.

Your take on the John Wick is about how I felt with Django Unchained. It got to where all the movie was about was finding a new way to kill somebody on screen.

Django was not as good as advertised for me............it was kinda blah although it was very liked.

I will definetley give U.S. a try again.

Django Unchained (4.5/5 stars) is in no way, shape, or form, related to John Wick, except for maybe the last 30 minutes of DU. The rest of the movie is filled with awesome, vintage Tarantino dialogue from Waltz, DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Motherfucking Jackson

Put it in a spoiler tag, why did you dislike the film? It is the ninth movie of all time I've ever awarded a perfect 5/5 star rating.

I saw "The Founder" last week and never realized what a prick Ray Kroc was.

That's how it started and I did enjoy the dialogue, but to me it just devolved into nothing but a blood bath. That was disappointing to me. It wasn't a bad move. It just seemed like lazy writing and directing to me.

John Wick 2 - 5/5

If you loved the first movie, you will love the sequel as much or more. The film immediately starts out with a bang. Lots of action, lots of dead bodies. If you are looking for a loud R-rated action movie with a large body count, this is the movie for you.
I did love the first one. JW2 got a great review in the LATimes and 8.6 at imdb and 75 metascore. Cinemark here I come!!!

If there's one criticism of Tarantino as a director, that misses the mark, it's laziness.

I've never heard that criticism before.
