The voice of fuckin reason
For any DirecTV people, free HBO and Cinemax this weekend. Have about 13 movies set to record over the next few days
I actually got to see the Revenant not too long ago. Really well shot and amazing cinematography. Tom Hardy did a great job even though his voice was ridiculous. 8.5/10 IMO.
Also saw Brooklyn. The main actress is very good and hot but I just can't get into Romance movies unless it has some other elements that make it watchable ala Grosse Point Blank. I still think it's a solid 7/10.
Debbie does Dulles.
10/10
Chris Pratt has been doing super safe movies after Lego and Guardians.
Magnificent 7 on its surface reminds me of Jurassic Park. You know exactly whats going to happen in the movie before you see it and the movie only exists to make money.
He is doing some sort of space Titanic around Christmas that does all of the normal space isolation stuff except with romance.
A waste of a lead character talent imo.
I actually think Johnny Depp is going to end his career underrated. I suspect that some of his movies, especially some of the ones from the past 5 years, are just going to be seen as awful but Im not sure there were actors that could save some of the trashy movies that he was in. A good example was Transcendence - a movie made about 20 years too late to catch anyones interest and was poorly made to boot.Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street: 3.5/5 stars. I'll be the first to say that I think Johnny Depp can be a little overrated, but he really performed in this movie. Going into this musical with him, I had traumatic flashbacks of Russell Crowe singing mercilessly on end in the film adaptation to Les Miserables, but I can honestly say that I never knew Depp had such a booming, yet ironically, soft, smoothing, and (if I were gay- which I'm not) seductive voice. He was awesome. This is the performance I would have liked to seen in From Hell. It was like Dexter, but in 1880's London.
The first half of the movie flirted with 5 star territory, but it kind of fell of in the end. I would have liked to seen more Alan Rickman (you can never have too much Alan Rickman), but oh well. For free on Netflix, I'd certainly recommend to get you into the Halloween mood (if these murderous clowns aren't doing the trick for you).
Hell or High Water.
Excellent flick. 8 out of 10 conservatively.

Word. I like Depp enough, what with legendary performances in Donnie Brasco and Public Enemies (very, very underrated movie. 4/5 from me even though a relatively low score on RT)I actually think Johnny Depp is going to end his career underrated. Sweeney Todd is a niche movie. My gf loves the movie but she likes dark musicals. I think its well made and generally agree with your analysis.
