The Last Movie You Watched (no spoilers)

I see your point about wanting a different ending. But as soon as we saw that woman die (acid burns instantly), you could check off the 'Goodman is making it all up' ending. So they'd have to have done it differently.

But we didn't actually see her die. We saw her go crazy, than cut scene to a couple hours later. Further, her body was found in the shed away from the bunker door.

I hated the ending too, but for a different reason. I would have liked Goodman to have been a fucking crazy psychopath, and have had everything and everyone be fine. The resolution and explanation of Michelle's character was never given

But he WAS a crazy psychopath...

he killed his daughter and he killed the other girl (Melissa?). He was going to kill Michelle eventually.

That said, he was also right about the invasion from "Mars".

Also, I am guessing that this was NOT a sequel to Cloverfield. The aliens looked nothing like the monster, and Michelle looked at Howard like he was crazy when he mentioned Mars as a potential invader. Um, New York had just been attacked AND FLATTENED by an alien monster just 10 years prior. Yea. Not the same universe.

And how would that explain where her body was found?

And did you notice that the actress playing that lady was chairperson of the board of Pied Piper?

Saw Love and Mercy.

Man Jon Cusak got old. I love movies that explore the lives of famous musicians and this one was simple enough to work. The movie is very blunt about symbolism and gives you an appreciation for the main character and an antogonist you really want to punch in the face. I love the music and the score but it's not the most noteworthy acting.

Cusack is from Evanston, IL, and I had friends at Northwestern in the mid '80s (I actually worked there one summer in that period, too). One of those friends saw Cusack at a big party on campus dragging on a bong, and told his group, "Hey, there's John Cusack taking bong hits!"
Funny thing was that he then heard Cusack saying something like, "I'm John Cusack, I can't have people seeing me smoking weed in public!" But, all kinds of people walked by and said, "Look, it's John Cusack getting high, right there!"

Fun and very "90's". Not smart, but not stupid + a good concept. Enjoyable.
