Finally saw the Revenant It was actually kind of slow to get started, but picked up about an hour in. It kind of annoyed me that they elk bugling in the middle of winter, anybody who knows anything about elk knows that they mainly bugle August-October. Overall 7/10

Dirty Grandpa- The wife picked it. I didn't have very high expectations, but it actually made me laugh quite a bit. 7/10

Just watched Sinister, Paranormal Activity, Devil's Due, and The Conjuring in fairly rapid succession...my daughter is really into getting scared lately.
DD had a few scary moments, but was mostly pretty lame and I'd recommend skipping it. The other three all held my interest and were scary, although PA seemed to have a lot of space between the gripping moments. Seems like The Conjuring is probably more popular amongst horror fans and I did like it a lot, but I enjoyed Sinister a bit more...I liked that it didn't just draw on standard possession/satanic legends and images and thought it was more original than TC.

Dirty Grandpa was so much better than I expected. There were such low ratings and my girlfriend and I laughed the entire film.

The Natural- Really underwhelmed with this film, heard things like,'Every baseball fan must watch' and things like that. It is an ok film, just not nearly what it was built up to be.

No older movies stand up to todays movies. Not because they arent as good, but because the pacing is SOOO different, it is hard to change your pace-expectations to match.

I would guess that someone who watched the Godfather today for the first time as an adult would be bored to death from it.

I can give you an opinion on that if you would like. I actually have never seen any of the films (ridiculous I know), it is on the list of films I need to see.

'Leave the gun, take the canoli.'

Should I watch it: 1, 2, then 3? I've heard the story is out of order so some have recommended watching it in chronological order.

Personally, I am more of a fan of 1 than 2, but both are amazing.

There is a little bit of back-and-forth in 2, so I think watching 1 first is the way to go.

1 = Rise of Michael, Fall of Vito
2 = Reign of Michael, Rise of Vito
3 = Fall of Michael, Rise of Vincent

Dont worry about 3 until you have seen both 1 and 2 about 15 times each.

We kept our scary flick watching up with "Oculus" last night and my little family of 3 was unanimous in agreeing that it was the best of this bunch...scary, interesting, and generally well acted (I thought Karen Gillan was very good, the guy playing her brother was a little shaky in being believable at times). I have been a fan of Gillan's since first seeing her from behind wearing very tight pants on Dr. Who, but they actually did not really play up her sexiness in this one.

I was not expecting much from 3, but it was still massively disappointing...can't help expecting something with some gravity after the first two, and then you end up watching something like a mob version of "Weekend At Bernie's".
Definitely recommend watching 1 then 2, maybe watch 3 if you have the boxed set.

I like 2 better mostly off the performance of De Niro

The Finest Hours. I enjoyed it. Makes you appreciate what type of conditions the Coast Guard has to deal with.

I watched "Sisters uncut version" last night. It was funny. I always like Tina Fey. Tonight I'll watch the "Revenant." This movie is going to be great I think. I heard it is wonderful?

I will be interested to see how it translates to video. It was pretty spectacular in the theater. The natural lighting and environment has a very ominous and foreboding feel to it.
