Zootopia. It was pretty funny. Kinda seemed like it had some racial undertones to it tho?? Which was kind of weird, but overall, it was another great Pixar film. Took my 4 yr old...it was her first movie. She LOVED it.

Deadpool, 6/10. I don't usually like such movies, so this is actually a much better score than it may seem.

Sicario.

I'd been wanting to see this for a while. The border shootout scene was great.

The Big Short

I liked the constant 4th wall drops. VERY interesting way to tell a story. Because of these, it felt more like a kind of documentary than an actual movie ("OK, this is not how we actually found this info. He heard it from a friend and I read it in an article" or what ever). I agree with a lot here who said Carell was the star of the movie. I thought he did a much better job than Bale (nothing against Bale).

7.5/10

The Circle

A low-budget sci-fi flick on Netflix. An hour and a half of a bunch of people stuck in a room, talking out their predicament, and I was somewhat engrossed. If you have a spare 100 mins or so, I can think of worse ways to spend your time.

The Comet

A pre-Mr Robot movie by Sam Esmail. If you like Mr Robot, you will LOVE this movie. Very artsy, but compelling none the less. I don't want to say too much more than that about it. Ismail stories have a weird level of mystery attached to them.

Such a disappointing underwhelming movie. I was so psyched to watch it. Then... boooooored.

Did you notice that no one seemed to care about the shoot out? They just went on their marry way

Kissing Jessica Stein - Very cute chick flick. A pretty but uptight, over-achieving Jewish girl feels the pressure by her mother to marry but ends up falling in love with a hot lesbian.

Best line: Jessica takes her lover to her brothers wedding and is surrounded by a group of girls who ask:

"Are you the lesbian?"

Meanwhile her girlfriend is surrounded by a circle of "helpful" older Jewish women who discuss the best methods for artificial insemination.

cute

I did notice that. I think that the other people in their cars were either used to seeing that sort of thing every day in Juarez, or they were smart enough to not get out of their cars after seeing what happened to the hitmen; probably a bit of both. At the end of that scene, you can hear someone from the extraction team say that this would be on every front page in America; someone else commented that it wouldn't make the front pages in El Paso.

True they did say that, forgot about that. It does make sense now that you mention it that those people were probably "used" to seeing this sort of stuff. It was pretty funny how the border patrol agents just "looked" and then thought, "ah F it, we're good"
