Felt the same way. Leo will be bringing home an Oscar for this one. Filming in natural light was amazing (apparently a hassle for the crew from what I've read) and the landscape was breathtaking.

My girlfriend kept complaining that what Leo's character went through and accomplished was hard to believe. I could see her point a few times, but survival instinct (and the burning need for revenge) can allow humans to accomplish amazing things.

btw, my Cousin saw the movie with a veteran friend of his and his buddy had a seizure that they think was PTSD related after watching that scene. After seeing it, I can understand why.

8.5/10

Most of it is based on real events, minus the love-story, that Hollywood cannot possibly omit.

That and he didn't kill Fitzgerald after hunting him down....he ended up letting him go in real-life, I believe?

Yes, if I remember correctly Fitzgerald was joining the army of some sort so Glass was kinda forced to spare him. And if he ever considered revenge farther down the line, he died so it couldn't happen.

Couple of Westerns I'd never heard of were, I thought, freaking excellent, both with A-list (talent) actors. Not sure why the studios would bury them, or maybe I'm just not paying attention lately.

Slow West - Michael Fassbender

The Salvation - Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green in a non speaking role.

Just watched Sicario.

Pretty good flick. Benicio Del Torro is the most underrated actor in Hollywood. He's awesome.

13 Hours - I liked it but not quite as much as Lone Survivor and American Sniper though.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I enjoyed it. Definitely saw that JJ took some of the things from the original trilogy that worked and mixed it up a little.

The Wolverine.

Very mediocre at best. They would've been better off making it a sequel to X-Men Origins rathere than some post xmen movie that was meh.

Saw The Revenant last night.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't the most riveting story or even that "entertaining" in the modern-sense of the word, but it was epic nonetheless.

The scenery, the soundtrack (er' whatever ya call it?) and the cinematography were amazing. The bear scene may be one of the greatest scenes I've ever seen. Wonderfully done.
Only movie i have gone to the theaters to watch more than once in a while. Like you said, not a ton of action, but on the edge of my seat the whole time. Not a huge Leo guy, but he was damn, damn good in this. The landscape was stunning throughout. Besides, the flogging scene in Passion of the Christ, that bear scene was one of the most unsettling things I've seen with regards to reactions to other people in the theater. Seemed like 5 minutes long! If that really happened to me and I survived that first attack, I'd be saving that bullet for me and not the bear. Wife was not a fan of the horse bed, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

Yep. Watched that as well and liked it. Weird watching 2 guys from "The Office" play those roles, but thought they did a pretty good job with it.
