Zoolander 2. Beg them to play the original or get drunk first. A few laughs though.

Saw Hail Caesar.

Basically a film for people who like Cohen brothers movies and old time movies. Oddly enough turns out to be a very pro-American movie and a movie that celebrates work and the complexities of difficult projects and the progress we make because of it. Not a movie that needs to be seen in theaters but a movie that demands you to pay attention or else you'll miss all of the jokes.

I liked it. Not everyone will.

Experimenter.

Based on the true story of Stanley Milgram and the obedience experiment.

Pretty good movie I thought, but it's not what you would call normal entertainment.

Watched "Sin City" last night - for the first time. I'm ashamed of myself for waiting so long to take the time to watch it.

I saw it was on netflix, what's it about/comparable to?

Good question, it is kind of unique, three nerdy kids trying to do right from the ghetto that just happen to love the culture of the 90s, who get in a situation where they have to sell drugs on the internet. So in a way it is modern weaker version of Boyz n the Hood.

It kept me interested enough, some scenes I wouldn't ever want to see again.

Just finished it. Was pretty good, I liked the ending. I was worried when he was pushed into it that I wouldn't like the way it turned out.

My wife and I watched a Ted Bundy documentary last night. Learned how much I didn't know about that crazy fuck and there is a lot I didn't know. Never knew he escaped jail twice and cant believe I didn't know he killed outside of Florida? All of this time I always thought he just killed a bunch of college girls in Gainesville. :L One of the things I kept hearing that I didn't understand was people saying how "good looking" he was? WTF are they talking about? I don't get what they thought was attractive about his looks? :noidea:

All in all, I knew he was crazy but never knew his murders were so heavily based on fucking dead bodies.

Saw Interstellar.

It seems like the movie Nolan wanted to make when he made Inception. In many ways, Sunshine did this movie first. Interstellar is deeper and has better moments and more emotion but it also has about 30 minutes of bloat. I think the movie would've been better if it left you guessing. There are quite a few moments that happen in the movie that you figure out on your own for the most part and then the movie comes back to them much later after much exposition. The sound is top notch and all of the actors work but I wish Nolan would use different actors. Its getting silly to see the same people in movies without breaking the setting and the entire movie is setting. One thing Sunshine or Inception didn't do was what Interstellar did in the first act and that was establish a universe.

Great movie. Ill only see it once.

Just watched Everest. I enjoyed it for what it was but it is definitely something I don't need to watch again.

Meant to say I saw Spectre. The newest James Bond movie. Not Skyfall.

Spectre was visually striking, good humor and had a couple of good action scenes. The bulk of the movie was dull, though

I liked Interstellar a lot too. 2/3rds of the film was just fantastic. Matt Damon was great in his role as the anti-Martian.

The end was typically ultra-pseudo-metaphysical ala Inception but still kinda worked.

Yeah, the first 2/3 of Interstellar was fantastic. The middle of the movie was literally the same movie as Sunshine, though. Its a little known movie with big actors but its the same thing to the point where I was able to predict everything that was going to happen in Interstellar because its exactly what happened in Sunshine.

What Interstellar had the Sunshine didn't have was the 'time is relative' manipulation which allows for some fairly incredible plots. There is a really bad movie called Cube 2: Hypercube that delved into that concept a little bit but the whole movie was so ridiculous that none of it mattered. Interstellar was 100 times more intelligent but I felt like the black hole bedroom was the type of...wtf?!? that is reserved for Japanese anime and later Futurama episodes and done about half as well.

Interstellar also had a couple of visually fantastic scenes that Sunshine just doesn't even attempt to do. I'm glad I saw it. Its just a frustrating movie because I feel like it should be one of my favorite movies ever and with its ridiculously long run time it just went the wrong direction with a lot of good ideas.

Anyways, saw the Good Dinosaur because my gf wanted to see it. No idea how this got green lit. Its a childrens movie about overcoming fear which is cool and all but it fails miserably for one simple reason: that dinosaur should be dead. Like 8 times over. A very dead dinosaur. A movie about overcoming fear shouldn't also be a movie about overcoming insurmountable odds. A movie about overcoming insurmountable odds should be a movie that accepts death and failure as things that happen to virtuous and motivated people. A movie about overcoming fear should actually show the things you are afraid of to be things that can be overcome. The dinosaur consistently failed to overcome things that would've killed 99% of animals in that situation. The movie was also written by committee and completely changed tone from act to act. Probably the worst Pixar movie and possibly by a large margin.

I never saw the Sunshine movie.. What's the full name again?

Yep, we agree.

I saw the first Cube and really liked it.

Yes, I just really love space movies that show that stuff off. i.e "real" space travel. I still wish I could go to the moon.

Cinemax has a free movies period on my cable for a little while. So I watched Edge of Tomorrow and Contact again, both really good science fiction movies for me.

Its an extended trailer. You don't have to watch the whole thing to get the gist. Actually this whole thing is spoiler filled. Only watch it if you dont plan on watching the movie
