Bears at Vegas Raiders

I'm gonna get you drunk, get you drunk......

you gotta get me stoned tho.
I may have to move to Vegas I'm sure that will go over well :L I like the idea of the raiders in vegas. Not far for the fan base. Fits the raiders reputation. And i can see them thriving there. This also isn't the raiders we've seen since the super bowl loss to the Buccs. They're a much improved young team on the rise.

Let's just say it's pretty close for the sake of argument eh.. But if the RAIDERS move there that City will be ours..
This I won't argue. With the current fans here, the fans in LA who love to come to Vegas anyway, and the fans who will change to Raider fans the team will have a home crowd. I know one Eagle fan has said he'll be a Raiders fan if they move here. He did caveat that by saying he will still remain a Raider fan. I expect a lot of fans here will have two teams they root for, their current team and the Raiders.

Actually in Las Vegas the biggest fan base is the Cowboys. There is a reason they are called America's Team as they do have fans everywhere and it does seem the cities that do not have an NFL team seem to support the Cowboys more so than any other team. The next biggest is that of the 49ers. From what I can tell from the research that has been done the Raiders come in at a distant 3rd in Vegas.

Next is going to be will the NFL allow a Casino owning person actually have a big time vested interest in an NFL team? Right now it sounds like there is major push back against that happening because of the fear of the betting side of things. Definitely a lot of obstacles to get over if this were to actually happen.

I haven't experienced this to be the case at all... From what I have experienced and the people I have met in the 9 Years of living in Vegas. A lot of people are transplanted from other regions of the US and continue to root for their team that they grew up with, seems to mostly be west coast/Cali teams. And as far as the people that were raised in town it seems to be a mash up of whatever team was good when they were younger or the team their parents were fans of.

The Raiders would do fine in Vegas.

2 things...

1) I'm basing my argument on data that has been taken from many different platforms. You are right that Vegas with having so many transplanted people has fans of all different teams. From what I can tell Cowboys fans are about 7.9% of the people in Vegas. So while they are the most popular team it is not like they are some overwhelming favorite either. The Steelers/49ers are the next group with around 7% and the Raiders are around 6%. So not like there is this huge gap where like in Denver it would be something like 99% of the people in Denver are Bronco fans or the overwhelming majority of people in Seattle who support the Seahawks.
2) I have not once said that the Raiders wouldn't do fine in Vegas. Honestly I think they would have much better ticket sales while also maintaining the same merchandise sales. This isn't like the Rams moving from St. Louis to LA where they might lose a lot of the St. Louis people as fans because they are hurt that the team was taken from them and don't want to support Kroenke anymore. I think most in Southern California that support the Raiders would still be Raiders fans and would still want to make that trip to Vegas. Maybe not be season ticket holders but still go to some of the games.

My argument has been and I will stick with this in that because Vegas is so much of a tourist town and the cheapest big city to go to that they would see a lot of people show up to the games that are not Raiders fans. You go to Seattle and they have a huge home field advantage partly because the overwhelming majority of fans at the game are Seahawks fans so the volume stands a chance of being that much more. I could see at Raiders games in Vegas it being closer to 70% Raiders fans and the rest being a combo of Corporations that bought season tickets for their clients and that of other fans that have gone to Vegas for a fun weekend.

You must not be following it closely dude.. It's moving real fast..

It is definitely moving but there are still a ton of big time question marks that could keep it from happening. Such as it is expected that state money will have to help fund the stadium. Well Nevada Legislature meets only once every 2 years to discuss such matters. Their next meeting isn't until February of 2017. So no firm decision could be made until then.

Ownership would still have to approve. It does sound like more and more owners are getting behind it but there are still some very influential owners who are strongly against such a move. They might not also like where the money is coming from if Casino owners get involved because of the conflict with not wanting gambling to be directly associated with the NFL.

Throw in they could still make the decision to move to LA if the Chargers decide to reject the decision.

The Raiders will be very successful in Vegas.

The Broncos, Chiefs, and Chargers would love to have the raiders in Vegas because it would allow them to sell an extra season ticket to their fanbase. Originally they sold the home games, now they add a 9th game to the package, the away game against the Las Vegas Raiders. I also believe a lot of California/West Coast Raiders fans will make trips to watch them play as well. Was just in Vegas for week and I saw a ton of Raiders jerseys everywhere (on & off the strip)

It's moving real fast cd we will know this year what will happen..
And as far as the owners approving?? No problem there imo.. Stan the man don't want the RAIDERS to take all his fan base and share in his shiny new stadium.. And we know Jerry don't want Mark in SA!!
The owners will approve of Vegas the MONEY is too great!!
We have 3 options here cd.. Oakland, LA or Vegas!! We WIN either way..
