And the Lakers didn't make any stupid trades but took the third best guard available with the 17th pick and rumors abound the Lakers are going to do their level best to sign Reaves, Hachimura, and possibly Beasley. Walker and Brown are left to their devices but something tells me that both may return when they discover the market isn't going to pay them the big bucks especially in Walker's case.

The Lakers took Jalen Hood-Schifino after both Hawkins and Kobe Bufkin went right before. Plus the Lakers like those hyphenated last name players anyways!

Thoughts on the Lakers picks?

I don’t watch much college ball outside of the tournament

Not bad. The Lakers took two shooting guards as they continue to look for scorers especially from long distance. They both will spend time in the G-League and probably be brought-up as needed.

Of the two guards, Hood-Schifino has some ball-handling skills and he a pretty good shooter. The rumor was that the Lakers were interested Hawkins but he left the board with the 15th pick. King is one of the better players who is already in the G-League. So the Lakeshow did pretty well. They certainly didn't hurt themselves.

King is not the Lakers pick.

They traded that pick to move up to #40

Maxwell Lewis was the Pepperdine local boy, small forward, the Lakers traded-up with Indiana. Good pick as well.

Hood-Schifino is quite intriguing with his size and length as a PG.

6-10 wingspan as a PG will go a long way if he can improve his defensive skills.

Yeah, ALR. His offense is pretty damn good and his skills on that side of the ball are very good. His defense needs work. He is a good pick and I see him becoming a back-up in the near future.
