Wims is a disaster. The three times I saw him - he was taking off 15 yards downfield on a false start. He miss timed a jump on a deep ball and basically fell down on a deep ball. The last time I saw him on TV prior to today? He dropped a wide open 45 yard TD pass that could have changed the entire complexion of our playoff game. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass, kid.

And I agree. You could see he was making his way to his 3rd and 4th progressions at times. Calmly tucking to run and accelerating through that seam for a big play looked effortless. Very impressive. He's as fast as most any DB out there, too.

I don't like the idea of him debuting vs that Rams defense. But... I'm just starting to think "fuck it". Let the kid play. Nagy HAS to know he's the only legit chance you have at making a run and saving your job.
just hope they keep some chemistry. This Adams guy and Fields have it. Its not a great white hope like Sanzenbacher this time around. But the one nice leaping catch he did make he was late off the line, so maybe its a communication thing with Fields? Just see Adams making plays in the game and Ridley making plays in practice so hopefully they will be 6 and 7.

I didn't get to watch this game because apparently AT&T TV is a streaming service that is blacked out for nationally televised NFL games? WAT.

The Bears just completed their first round of cuts, six total. Pretty much all no names except one: Ledarius Mack. Hope brother Kahlil isn't pissed.

Wakeup call to the offense:

I'm telling you guys, that OL scares the bajeebus out of me. As much as I want to see Fields take over by yesterday, I remain inclined to have him on the bench to start the season, at least the first game, so that we can truly gauge how porous his protection will be.

It is extremely unlikely that anyone but Dalton starts our opener.

We're also going to get our sh*t eaten alive because their D-line is too much for our O-line.

Brace thy anuses for 0-1.

That is wrong in so many ways............but I nonetheless fully intend on bracing said anus!!

I mean...Our strength on the OL (if there is one) is the interior...and it's going to get it's lunch eaten by Donald....What happens on the outside is going to be the cherry on top. I just don't see how we win an opener vs a team like the Rams on the road. Matthew Stafford is a huge upgrade from Goff. Just what it is...If we won I'd have a huge boner though.

I always take the approach of 'on any given Sunday', yet I have to wholly agree with your take. It would be a total shocker if we can pull this one out.

The Bears bring in yet another WR for tryout:

Yet another wideout to compete for one of those bottom two spots remaining in the WR group.

Anything that has the potential to get Javon Wims off our roster is welcome.
Hah!! Actually, I doubt this latest tryout has any affect on Wims, as he's already toast. Who might now be squirming a bit more tho is Ridley.

Funny, I completely forgot that we'll be facing Trubisky on Saturday. Didn't realize it until I read an article on the game. I think he's gonna start in this one. Should be fun and lucky for us it'll be live on the NFL Network.

And then there were 80..............

My personal biggest surprise was Pennell. Not sure if he's been truly hurt or it's just some type of roster reduction deviation. I'm sure it didn't help his cause that 7th round pick Khyiris Tonga has performed above expectations at the nose.

I can't help but think that unless someone on the bubble really, really stands out in this final preseason game, our 53 man roster is probably already set, altho this depends on how many players we keep at various positions. For instance, do we start the season with 3 QBs, which of course means one less player at another spot. But I'm guessing we'll go numbers-wise like this:

QB - 3
RB - 4
WR - 6
TE - 4

OL - 8
DL - 6
OLB - 4
ILB - 4
CB - 6
S - 5
Specialists - 3

The position groups that I bolded are where whatever final spots that may remain in competition, they will be within these 4 units. One position where there might have been a fight for the last spot, but is no longer the case will be at RB. Does anyone here think there's any chance that Tariq Cohen will start the season on the roster? Not sure if they'll place him on IR or PUP, but either way, he will not suit up when the season begins. This eliminates what battle there might have been between Kahlil Herbert and Ryan Nall for the last spot in the unit. Now they'll undoubtedly both make it.

I want to be disappointed...but he really never did anything to give us something to be excited about... and thus disappointed later...
Honestly, I think the younger Ridley has primarily been the beneficiary of tagging onto his way more talented brother's namesake. Unlike Wims, who at least flashed some talent in his rookie year, I don't recall Ridley having any stretch where we said he could be a keeper.
