Because it would be an unbelievably brutal schedule. Auburn already has one of the toughest schedules in the country, how is there any argument they should make it harder?

The PAC is a big hot mess this year do its not like you can chest thump your in conference schedule.

I could be wrong but I believe two of the only three schools. Who have never played an FCS school are in the PAC 12

If you could show a single SOS ranking that showed you were right you might have a case, but you can't, so you have to resort to a silly 9>8 argument. And if the SEC was a pseudo conference we wouldn't have winning records over all the other P5 conferences in both the regular season and in bowls.

The ones that use win/loss records of the opponent. If every team in the SEC is all but guaranteed three wins out of conference while other conferences have one or two near guarantee games then it makes the SEC look better.

To be fair the high school teams were better than Washington State, Oregon State, the Arizona teams and Oregon at the time.

Auburn should be in the East. Our historical rivals are Florida, Georgia, Tenn and Alabama. We rarely played LSU or Ole Miss even when there were just 10 teams.

Until expansion we had played GT more than LSU.

The SEC West went 2 - 5 in bowls the year before last. Fact of the matter is more conference games means more losses suffered which means less SEC teams get bowl eligible.
