The SEC West went 2 - 5 in bowls the year before last. Fact of the matter is more conference games means more losses suffered which means less SEC teams get bowl eligible.

And the SEC was 9-2 last year, and Alabama won the championship?

Nice OOC schedule Washington has, you have so much room to talk about anyone else's. Surely you can find some objective ranking to show that the SEC teams play a weaker overall schedule than other conferences do.

You asked for an SOS where it would benefit the SEC and I gave you one. Don't be pissed that I proved you are a dumbass.

No, I asked for one that didn't benefit the SEC, one that shows that they play weaker schedules than the other conferences. But you can't.

Last year only 1 SEC team had a record of 6-6.
In 2014, only 1 SEC team had a record of 6-6.
In 2013, only 1 SEC team had a record of 6-6.

So basically, in the past 3 years it's been only possible that one time not having an extra conference game could have kept a team from going to a bowl.

And btw, based on the teams listed, and given the fact they are all SEC West teams whose "9th game" would have been versus an SEC East team - those 3 are actually not very likely.

That's one year. Fact of the matter is the SEC plays less conference games so they can schedule more sisters of the poor. It's pretty pathetic when some SEC teams only meet twice in ten years.

The ones that use win/loss records of the opponent. If every team in the SEC is all but guaranteed three wins out of conference while other conferences have one or two near guarantee games then it makes the SEC look better.

This is terrible math. Yes, technically it could result in 7 extra losses for the conference every year, however if you do the actual math there is basically no real effect on the overall results because you are talking about 7 games out of 168 total games.

I'll say it again, 7 losses out of 168 total games difference. 56 of those total games are automatic losses to the conference. So of the remaining 112 games, we could possibly add 7 losses.

Talk about splitting hairs.

Then why did the SEC vote 13 - 1 in favor of not playing their own conference members?

sisters of the poor?

Last year, the Pac12 sent 2 schools to bowl games with a 6-6 record and a FCS win(I'm betting you can guess one of them).
In 2014, the Pac12 didn't have any.
In 2013, the Pac12 had 3 schools go to bowl games with 6-6 records and a FCS win.

Over the past 3 years, the Pac12 was 1 bowl team short of being double the number of FCS wins needed to be bowl eligible.

Because it's a stupid idea and takes away a home game for teams.

The only reason it got the 1 team is because that coach wants a faster rotation of teams.

Then I guess they should stop playing so many neutral site games and taking away home games.

There's 1000 and one formulas for figuring SOS. Fact of the matter is Bama plays one solid team at a neutral site and three sisters of the poor at home hence the reason the SEC won't move to a 9 game conference schedule even though there's 14 teams in that pseudo conference.

Btw, the 1 vote for 9 games came from Bama. Yet here you are running your mouth about Alabama being the reason the SEC won't do it.

So playing your own conference members twice every ten years is a good thing right ... lulz.

Why do you guys care if we play a 9 game schedule? The SEC champ is going to the playoff anyway unless something bizarre happens. It really has zero effect on your life or team.

Do you want a game with Auburn? Call our AD will give you one, we are struggling to find P5 teams that want to play.

The economics are better for the neutral sites plus it's good exposure for recruiting. We need more not less good neutral site games.
