Have you seen UVA's profile? No Q1 wins. No wins over projected tournament teams (VT would go either way right now) and now 2 Q3 losses. They wouldn't even be discussed (or ranked) if not for the fact that they are UVA and you'd expect them to be great, Because they have been the last 6/7 years.

Yall are nuts. UVA is not gonna be some sub .500 ACC team. They're making the tournament. They look like just about every other UVA team prior to last year; good defensively but prone to shit offense, and those teams still won a ton of games

They are like 200th in adjusted offensive efficiency. Last year they were 2. Even looking at their projections, they only project to finish 20-10, 12-8 in conference. That isn't going to be enough, especially if they don't have any good wins.

It's still early into the season with a bunch of basketball to be played so I wouldn't count them out, especially after a couple of ACC games out of 20 they play. And, considering how bad the NCAA is overall.

CBS Sports Bracketology has them projecting as an 11 seed right now:

And that was posted before they lost to BC. I'm not saying they won't make it, they just wouldn't if it started today.

12-8 in the ACC, even if its a down year, will absolutely get a team in the tournament, especially if that team won the whole thing last year. The committee claims that kind of thing doesn't factor in but they lie

looking at UVA's schedule, it's possible for them to go 14-6 in the ACC without having any top 50 wins

probably won't happen, but this year's ACC is garbage

Yeah and losing top 5 last year hurt a lot but also losing Anthony this year really hurt. They can’t run an offense without him. They even had a couple struggling games with him.

When you've had as much success as UNC has had, a losing season every 20 years or so is actually kind of fun!

It doesn't matter that they won the whole thing last year. Defending champs have missed before if they are a bubble team. Getting 12 wins in this version of the ACC isn't that impressive. If those 12 wins consists of a win over Duke, UL or fsu, that would be different. But part of that projection is them losing all the games against those teams. Which I think might happen.

i don't think Roy was banking on Coby White exploding the way he did. There wasn't anything about White's ranking or reputation coming out of HS that suggested he was going to be a OAD. Two and done, maybe.

Combine that with the injuries of Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris, you've got a perfect shit storm.

I don’t know whether to be embarrassed that I wanted a Leonard Hamilton canned a few years back? Program was stale and mediocre and we were getting some very good recruits that he just couldn’t develop (Michael Snaer being a good example), or having extremely potent big men and not coaching to take advantage of it.

So here we are now. Has Hamilton reinvented himself? The new FSU “trademark” seems to be an athletic squad that runs 10-11 players deep... It has been a fun 2-3 years as an FSU fan honestly.

Truthfully I’m still a skeptic that Hams can be a “big game coach” when the chips are down though. Would LOVE to see a Final Four, but could be asking too much...
