I tend to agree. But he did just get a big time recruit. It's tough. Ppl wanted Ben Howland and Jamie Dixon gone. Needed to elevate the program further. Idiots.

FSU has been pretty impressive.

Louisville another team that guy a super high ranking inexplicably off being a 10 seed last year. But that was impressive.

We lost 6 of our top 8 scorers from last season, and most (including myself) expected FSU to take a step back. But guys have been stepping up.

That one bad loss is not looking so bad after Stephen F Austin keeps winning; they're (13-2) one spot ahead(119) of UCLA in the latest KenPom standings.

That loss may have been the best motivation of all.

You're right, sometimes it takes a loss by a quality team in any sport to wake up that quality team.

UVA takes another ugly loss. Put them right alongside UNC as teams that would be on the outside looking in for the tournament.

If we get in, we’re getting bounced early. Hardly anyone on the team can shoot. Defense can only take us so far. I’m assuming Bennett was hoping Guy and Jerome came back for their senior season and Morsell and Stattman would be on the bench learning instead of being thrown into the fire immediately. Top three this year are Duke, Louisville and FSU.

BTW, Hokies with a win tonight at Cuse. We're officially a basketball school again and are winning the tournament so it doesn't really matter who else is in it

Have you seen UVA's profile? No Q1 wins. No wins over projected tournament teams (VT would go either way right now) and now 2 Q3 losses. They wouldn't even be discussed (or ranked) if not for the fact that they are UVA and you'd expect them to be great, Because they have been the last 6/7 years.

This is why preseason rankings are useless. UVa has no business being ranked.
