Man the ACC is way down this year.

There's no dominant team this season. Last year you could argue there were 6-7 deep Tournament quality teams and 2-3 F-4 type teams. But it's not just the ACC but the entire NCAA quality of teams is down this year IMHO. The ACC still has 4 Top 25 teams on Ken Pom though.

Yep down year.

I did predict that UVA would be mediocre and that UNC was overrated. But I never thought UNC would be this bad.

I also still do not think L'ville is that good.

I think Duke runs away with this conference.

Even when this conference is way down though, it's still right there in the mix. Speaks to the depth and power of this league.

There's no dominant teams in college basketball. Period.

I still think the best team I've seen this year is Duke, and I think Tre Jones is the best player (or at least most important) in college basketball. I think they have enough consistency to win ACC regular season, but after that, all bets are off.

There are so many variables to consider when it comes to teams. Injuries are always a huge deal, Tre is awesome but Duke's best player is Vernon Carey.

Eight double-doubles
- Six 20-10 games (one of only three players nationally with 5+ of such games)
- Owns a 38.8 PER (ranked 1st nationally)
- Owns a 121.2 ORtg (ranked 1st nationally, min. 28% of possessions used)

He needs more recognition for NPOY as he's the best big man I've seen so far.

Oh I agree as a whole cbb is down this year. But the top of the ACC compared to what it's been the last 4/5 isn't there this year. I'm not even sure UNC and UVA would make the tournament if it started to today. And the middle of the league isn't there with the normal depth. I know it's early, but only 4 top 50 teams in the NET, isn't good. Last year I believe the ACC has 9. That's more so what I was talking about.

I'd probably have it behind the B1G, Big East and Big 12 for sure. It's in line with Pac 12 probably, with a better top for sure. It's crazy the league only has 4 teams in the top 50 of the NET. The B1G has 12!

Sure, I'm not a big fan of the NET, I'm more confident in Ken Pomeroy's adjusted charts or even

A question for you my friend: I can't remember when the ACC was down so much in football and basketball in the same year until now. Why do you think this has happened? The only thing I can come up with is many key players in both sports leaving ACC schools at the same time.

Hey @tomcat1 , I guess each school is dealing with different issues. State is dealing with the Dennis Smith mess. Virginia is depleted from a National Championship, VaTech has a new coach, and so on.

And . . . we both took a big hit in in losing our football QBs from last year.

I feel like we probably would make it but would just get bounced in round one.

It would be close. No good wins along with a bad loss isn't a good recipe. UVA has a gaudy record but it doesn't have anything of substance to it. Current NET of 69.

I feel like they'd put us in based on reputation more than anything. Losing the three main contributors from last years team (and Jack Salt) and none of the new players really stepping up has been hurting us.

Most games of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in the NCAA this season:

6 | Vernon Carey Jr. (Duke)
5 | Luka Garza (Iowa)
5 | Nathan Knight (William & Mary)

and, Carey is doing this averaging 23.8 MPG

- Owns a 38.8 PER (ranked 1st nationally)
- Owns a 121.2 ORtg (ranked 1st nationally, min. 28% of possessions used)

Devin Vassell could be a lottery pick in 2020. I bet he's gone after this season.

Just read that Clemson is 0-59 @UNC all time.

That's a crazy stat, Clemson has had some pretty decent teams over the years. Unfortunately, they don't have that good of a team that year, but still have a chance to end that streak.

Yes, this is one of those amazing stats in all of sports that's true which is hard to understand.
