We really needed to b/c the rotation is what it is.

even with the adding of Gray our starting rotation was never going to better than 13th or 14th in the AL so we needed an average to above-average bullpen and instead of adding 1 or 2 FA relievers the Rangers chose to do nothing

One game is not enough to damn Sborz and/or Santana to oblivion. But if things don’t go well for them this season, the Rangers will be welcoming Jonathan Hernández and José Leclerc off the 60-day IL sometime this summer. Nick Snyder, Spencer Patton and Daniel Robert are in Triple A. We still haven’t seen Albert Abreu, Joe Barlow, Brock Burke or Matt Bush this year. Bullpens are a rapidly changing amoeba.

Snyder, Lee, and Church should help this club out of the pen in the future. Howard could help the team from the pen too.

FWIW. I saw little to no baseball last year and relied on highlights. I am very interested in seeing Howard, his pitches and temperament
Maybe then I will see a spark from him or come out of denial

My opinion is that we know this season is gonna be rough on the pitching side, but help is on the way so I'm not worried. Absolutely loved what I saw from the offense. 2022 is a transition year.

Funny thing- thought Ibanez looked ok defensively but not so good ABs. Maybe jitters
Seager defense may be suspect though. Glad he held the ball in the tough DP

He is the real deal hitting wise though. Best since Beltre Marcus S barely missed the HR. Maybe a game changer and we could have seen our late inning guys after that

I think next season's success depends on how many prospects break down the door forcing the Rangers to bring them up either this season or to start next season.

Let's hope that happens with 2 or 3 starting pitchers, 2 or 3 relief pitchers and 3 position players. If that happens we will be in very good shape next year. There will still be an acclimation time period where the new guys struggle some, but within 12 to 15 months we could very well be significantly better.

Ok Solak better start tomorrow against Ryu the LHP

At some point I would like to see him get ABs against right handers too. Kole Calhoun is simply in the way.

Joey was 0-4 last night with a W and 3K's. I hope he stays in NY.

Don’t want to see him in a Rangers uniform again. He had more strikeouts than the Rangers team yesterday.
