The next 2 or 3 years are going to bring a lot of unbelievably huge contracts in baseball.

With the new CBA there will most likely be a lot of turning down great offers going on. The higher minimums and the higher luxury tax thresholds will make a lot of guys think they can get record breaking contracts.

Yeah, seems to be a case of Judge betting on himself.

I do wonder if it will be a little like musical chairs. The music will play for awhile and everyone will hold out for more. Then all of a sudden when certain teams have increased their spending by a certain amount and the music stops, some could be left without a bigger contract and have to settle for a smaller one than they anticipated.

Soto is the one I'm waiting for
Yeah, he will just barely be 26 years old when he becomes a free agent. That gives him 4 seasons in his twenties in his new contract and that is extremely rare. He is going to get a massive payday.

Not seeing how 210 million is shortchanging himself with injury risk and age.

Cashman pretty much gave up and called him out. This will be talked about for a bit

Not so sure about that. Ownership towed the line in last negotiations and not many teams outbid the Yanks. To me it is about what teams have money to spend.

Being a poor boy it is hard to equate to such talk. How does Judge decide on what he is worth or what he wants. Personally I hope he fails in negotiations.

Soto is the one that will turn 26 a few days before he hits free agency.

But, Judge will get pretty much what his agent wants him to get.

Aaron Judge turned down a reported 7/213.5 extension. Quite possibly the dumbest move I've heard in quite some time.
I was surprised to see he played in 148 games last year. Seems like he misses at least 50 games per year. 28 games played in 20 and 103 in 19. Does seem to be an injury concern going forward

yep. has only played two full seasons, and guys over 30 who are 6'7" and 280 historically don't get healthier

First pitch at 6:40 against the hated blow jays. This is the first rangers season to get excited about in roughly 5 years. Lets do it boys!

hoping to see Semien and Seager rake, el bombi prove he’s for real, actually get some production from the catcher position for the first time since the year of the Napoli, Gray prove he’s a solid #2 pitcher, and stories of Jack Leiter / Josh smith / and Duran tearing up the minors.

glad to see the rangers front office finally figure out what a “deodorant“ stick is.
