After an offseason that saw the Rangers spend more on free agents than any other team in MLB history, a very contentious labor dispute that caused a delay in the season starting and threatened to shorten the season, and a streamlined Spring Training, we have finally arrived at the official start of the MLB season for the Rangers.
It's right into the frying pan for our boys, as they visit Toronto to face one of the top AL teams. Newly signed Jon Gray gets the honor of the first game pitching duties. Following him will be Dunning and Howard, so the safe money says the bullpen will get extended time on the mound this weekend.
The lineup will feature several new acquisitions. Semien, Seager, Garver, and Miller figure to contribute heavily this season. El Bombi is said to have retooled his approach, and fingered crossed that Lowe takes a step forward in his output.
But most importantly: RANGERS BASEBALL IS BACK.
