Yep. The safety market has been stagnant for a while since Earl's contract but Mathieu and now Berry have kind of put it back on track relative to the expanding cap.

Seems like a position you can either use a mildly athletic TE or late round pick for fairly easily, if not UFA outright.

I was hoping rumors about Jefferson's AAV being around $10 mil were just agent driven thus leaving the Cards with a sliver of a chance resigning him. But after seeing what Church got, my hopes are dashed. Well at least that likely means a 3rd round comp pick is heading our way for what was an undrafted player.

He's not really a true FB and more of an H-back. He was a former TE coming out of college and he basically was a pass catcher for the Ravens.

He was PFF's top rated FB and he's only 25 so he was always going to get a hefty contract for a FB. Still a bit steep but in Shanahan's offense he should be very involved.
