I am happy to see this get now & not play out all through 2017. I am guessing 5/$90

This legal tampering period is really stupid.

What is stupidest about it is that the true "legal" tampering period has been going on since the Combine. It is the secret the NFL doesn't really try to cover up that teams and agents talk quite a bit about contracts at the combine just to get a gauge before FA of what to expect.

Which is what makes the "legal tampering" period even more stupid.

They basically only did it to screw fans and get more nothingburger clicks.

Garcon's money sounds ridiculous, but I have to believe that contract is heavily front loaded because the Niners have to spend the entire GDP of California this season.

Werner is reporting the deal is looking like it's worth 22 million in the 1st 2 years so year 1 is heavily front loaded.

It's a smart way to play imo. Use the massive cap space to front load guys while you're terrible and in a couple of years when you're competitive you'll be paying them peanuts and you'll have room to resign guys or bring in more free agents.

And those players playing for peanuts want new contracts.

Not surprised by this in the least. For a guy who has done nothing the last couple years but bitch about his contract, it's clear that he's been terrible with his money.

I thought it came out he was paying a ton of money to the mother of his son? Or he owed back payments...
