Edmonton resigned Ladislav Smid to a 4 year 14M contract. One less defenseman on the trade market.

I really don't forsee much movement Wednesday. Maybe some minor depth moves I guess. I think Jagr is the only big possibility, and it really seems like Dallas wants to keep him.

I think Calgary & Buffalo are going to blow their teams up. I don't expect Vanek to be dealt, but there will be other guys moved.

Clowe to MTL for Danny Kristo and a 1st Rounder is fine by me.

Send the Newfie home (or closer to home anyway) to a good family. Wherever Clowe goes, I'll miss him. Wish Thornton and Marleau played with half the fire he does. I think he'll rebound nicely wherever he lands.

At this point I am ready for the rebuild. I know the Sharks are currently in a playoff spot but I just don't see it happening for this team. The way I see it teams either need to be fast, tough, or both. San Jose is none of the above, it is almost like Wilson constructed this team for the pre-lockout NHL (a big slow possession team).

I wouldn't mind some Sharks players being dealt to contenders and get a good run at a cup. It would help us restock the barren farm system as well.

Wow. Something well written in the Dispatch.

I like all the points, but especially the fact that it is spelled out that Bob and RyJo are off limits.

I like the feel around the team. JD and Jarmo would deal one of the first rounders but only for long term help. That makes me feel good. I think they realize that even if the Jackets get in, it is foolish to stock up for a run. Not now. Not yet. They are comfortable with the mix, and won't sell either.

Time to look around at a team who is not meeting expectations and might have a good forward they won't be able to keep and would love an extra pick. And could perhaps use a once great goalie in need of a change of scenery.

I keep coming back to Vanek. Or Couturier/Voracek.
