Remember seeing a post that we might get back to 1st place by Sept 1, and even though it is only a 1/2 game it is still sweet at the moment to be alone in first. The team has done it as a team. Would like to see some more stolen bases tonight just to mess with the A's head some more.

He was one hot property back then. But arm troubles are exactly that and he's just never been the same. Not even close actually. Always hate to see a guy's career get derailed by injuries.

Psychologically it's a big deal to see that you are not trailing in the division. Texas went 32 days without picking up a game, then went on a tear in about 2 weeks making up the gap. That's a huge mental boost.

Making it as a top of the rotation starter and sustaining it is tough because of that. Many very good pitchers have their careers derailed before making it out of the minors. That is why you can never have too much pitching.

And Murphy is still our starting LF. Yikes. But at least Wash moved him into the 9 hole. He's getting closer to the bench is the only thing I make of this. Got Rios in the # 5 hole tonight!
