If he can consistently hit he's got a real chance. Between him, Duran, Smith and Thompson there is going to be a ton of competition for playing time, especially at LF.

I would think he would be a good bench player, but they mighr want a veteran in that role.

I wonder if they should just put him at 1B and let Lowe DH. Maybe Mathias can play a solid 1B.
Let Garver & Heim catch.
If Mathias struggles just put Lowe back at 1B, Graver at DH and call up Huff or a back up C.

I would be very happy about that. I would also want them to get some bullpen help as well.

The talk about Kodai Senga not signing anywhere except teams already in WS contention, reminds me of all the talk before last year's draft about Leiter only being willing to sign with the Red Sox .

I question if Perez is a true # 1.........But I do agree with ya, that's a nice rotation. And frankly, I try not to get too bogged down in who's # 1 vs who's # 3, etc.

I have a lot of conflicted thoughts regarding 'his attitude' in general. First, I understand where he's coming from, but (2) if he only wants to go to the Dodgers/Giants/Yankees or Astros, then lets not invest too much time/effort into wooing him. However, with CY at the helm, I think he has the ability to present our best side - both short and long term - b/c who really thought Bruce would think 'the Texas Rangers is my prefect landing spot' to restart my coaching career?..........I'm beginning to wonder - if not think - the best move this team has made in many a moon was the hiring of Mr Young!
