No More "Bullpen Failure"
I would be glad to have Perez as our #1 in 2023. No problem with that at all.Depending on the money I want Perez over Chris B
He is a good fit for the Ranger but not meant to be a #1

Ok fine with me too but when he is no #1 for a WS teamI would be glad to have Perez as our #1 in 2023. No problem with that at all.
He would have been our #1 in 2011 wouldn't he have? His ERA would have been better than even Cliff Lee in 2010.Ok fine with me too but when he is no #1 for a WS team
Pitching wins the WS
Words that may have never been spoken by a Ranger fanI would be glad to have Perez as our #1 in 2023. No problem with that at all.
Thought that crossed my mine but think not. What do you think? Some fans think we will sign Profar.
I really doubt it.Thought that crossed my mine but think not. What do you think?

I wonder if that rich Mets owner drives the market higher. If we can lock up a good starting pitcher soon then that would be wiseEdwin Diaz already off the market. Back to Mets. Largest contract ever for a RP.

Perez is a good pitcher. I want the Rangers to bring him back. On a team built to contend for the World Series, Perez should slot in the #3 position in the rotation at best.
Maybe the Rangers figure they can provide their own #3, #4, and #5 starting pitchers from within their system, by the time they can get to a World Series. That might mean only spending significant money on guys who can slot in at #1 or #2. Below those slots they may only want a bridge guy who is cheap. It worries me to think the Rangers are balking at 3/50 for Perez, unless they have higher targets.
I was thinking you might think this. I guess we will see if the money here is a Mets fluke or a true sign the price has gone up. InflationIt worries me to think the Rangers are balking at 3/50 for Perez, unless they have higher targets.
Wasn't the goal of the MLBPA during the labor negotiations a year ago to significantly increase spending? Unfortunately, that is exactly what is going to happen.I was thinking you might think this. I guess we will see if the money here is a Mets fluke or a true sign the price has gone up. Inflation
