If you were the GM and had $55 million to play with plus our prospect capital what 4 moves would you make?

Resign Perez-$15 mil per year
Sign Bassitt- $17 per year
Sign Nimmo-$21 mil per year
Trade for a SP like Bieber, Lopez, Gallen etc..
I would use 4 of Duran, Huff, Foscue, Winn, Vanasco, Roby, Ornelas and Saggese as parts of the package.
I would sign:

Martin Perez
Nick Martinez
Edwin Díaz
Chris Martin

I am ready to get this postseason over and move on to the Hot Stove League.

So, they have never went out and did a managerial search, interviewed guys, and then hired a manager who had ever won a postseason series. Johnson simply took over as interim.

From Levi Weaver's assessment of Adolis Garcia's season in Weaver's position by position analysis:

What remains is to see if García can put together a season in which he truly hits his potential. Can he continue to improve his ability to stay in the strike zone while maintaining the violent swing that wreaks such havoc on opposing pitchers? And can he do it consistently for the entire year?

If not, the 2022 version of García can still be a role player for a contending team. With his penchant for the big moment, he’s exactly the sort of player you want taking at-bats in a playoff series. He’s already broken through the realm of the “good success story” and is peering over the border into greatness. But if he can put it all together for an entire season, for multiple seasons during the Rangers’ push into a window of contention, he has the raw talent to become transcendent.

Top 7 managerial hires by the Rangers. These are in order by date hired and not by which was the best hire.

Whitey Herzog
Billy Martin
Billy Hunter
Don Zimmer
Bobby Valentine
Johnny Oates
Buck Showalter

This is not a list of the most successful, but the best hires at the time. Success has so much to do with the players.

Banister noticeably absent from this list.

It looks like this will be the 10th offseason hire of a manager in Rangers history. A few have been hired mid-season.

Those are pretty glowing reviews. If he stays a middle of the order bat even after additions that would be great

He did temper it by suggesting if the 2022 Adolis is the best we get, that that makes him a role player on a contending team.

A little slow in Ranger news. Wondering if a hire is waiting on guys maybe still in the WS hunt and also on look out for Perez signing news

Wonder what is going on in AZ league or is that done for now. Seem like it goes longer

Considering the Rangers went 15-35 in one run games I’m a believer that after this off-season of additions and some better coaching and luck.. their record will be much more competitive next year

They may have already decided who they want to hire. The league just doesn't like news to break that might distract from the postseason. They will most likely not announce Maddon as the new manager until after the WS.
