Personally I was glad he didn't sign last year because the lineup was a huge question mark. It seems to be a bit more settled now but they still need another bat or 2. If they can get a couple of bats I would love for them to sign him on a short contract to bring the attitude/atmosphere of a winner to the club and be a mentor to the young pitchers...

Are the Rangers going to make a run at Brandon Nimmo? Will they look into Benintendi?
Bryan Reynolds ?
Adolis seems to be a lock in the OF, Leody cooled off a ton the last 6 weeks, Bubba is fast and makes some things happen but can he hit enough?

Personally, I’d like them get a solid bat for LF and let Leody and Bubba alternate CF. 4th OF Spot. Pinch run, bunt etc. defense replacement

I like Reynolds’s but he would be costly

Are you sure they aren't planning on bringing back Kole Calhoun?

Whether the new playoff format is to blame for upsets or not, it is a terrible system. It is a system that rewards teams for aiming for goodness instead of greatness. You just have to be better than mediocre to make the playoffs. It also forces teams to be in prolonged layoffs that cannot be helpful. They will never do it, but it would be better to go back to 4 teams from each league making the playoffs.

I’m guessing but I think baseball analytics plays a huge part of this game now.

Assuming Anderson a left hander wasn’t injured or ran out of gas is pulled after 86 pitches and has given up 2 hits.
Martin a right hander is brought in to face Soto a left hander.

Maybe the analytics showed that was the right move but these are the things that Roberts gets grilled over.

Maybe analytics was a factor but now we see teams bringing in best reliever in high leverage situations. LAD did not do this

Well the postseason structure is what it is. So getting in is the first hurdle. Next you need a roster that favors the postseason. To me that means 3 lockdown SPs. Also is speed. 3 great relief pitchers and defense.
Have to have an edge winning the close low scoring games
