I know some on here don’t necessarily want a LF brought in..

I don't think they will unless it's a 1 year deal...

But I’d like to know everyone’s guesses as to who is the opening day Left Fielder??
Whoever impresses them the most in ST (I.E. actually shows they can hit) will be the starting LFer...

I'm guessing they hope White or Bubba steps up and grabs the bull by the horns because of their defensive prowess and speed...

Original thought bey owner is to bring in a middle of the order bat. We might be waiting on this to happen IMO for a last minute pickup if that is available

Shortly after Davis said that, CY did say that that middle of the order bat could be Jung.

This would be a bad idea. Our upper level rotations are already full.

Let us go forward not backward. Gambeling at this point is not the best choice.

Wonder if he could close and remember a MILB deal

Ok I will bite. For now it will be Duran. Bat plays better than Smit don’t see Bubba or Leody in same OF although one is in CF.

Do think we could pick up a LF but not until after FAs gets desperate for a prove it one year contract

That’s about the way I see it playing out.

Here is how their minor league numbers compare. First numbers are their career minor league numbers and the second set is their 2022 AAA numbers. Smith first and Duran next.

.305/.421/.500/.921
.269/.328/.488/.816

.290/.395/.466/.861
.283/.316/.531/.847

I like Smith surely is better defensively minus arm strength. I think Smith ends up being our utility guy. Despite the numbers the eye test to me shows more of a MLB bat with Duran despite liking Smith savvy.

Would guess DURAN exit velocity is better though

  • “Rangers OF (LF: projected 29th, CF: 26th, RF: 27th)
Are the Rangers contenders? We’re not totally convinced, but given all the big moves they’ve made over the last 14 months, they certainly would like to be, and they qualify by our cutoff here. It won’t happen with an outfield that had the third-weakest offense in the game in 2022 and hasn’t made any improvements yet, though there are some interesting young players you might expect to take a step forward. Even if they do, they can't do it alone.
Potential fixes: Sign Andrew Benintendi or Conforto; bring back Joey Gallo; trade for Max Kepler”

They must not think as much about El Bombi as most of us.
