No More "Bullpen Failure"
Michael Kirkman...er, I mean Spencer Howard is still on the roster.

They had to finish closing out their older failure of the Yu Darvish trade before they could address their more recent failure of the Kyle Gibson trade. They’ll get to our buddy Howard soon enough.#1 mystery
And with that, the Yu Darvish trade is now officially over.
The Darvish trade was a massive stink bomb. I called it when they announced it. I thought Willie was a lackluster take for a solid #2 borderline #1 starter.
we should’ve got a buehler or Verdugo out of it or just not traded him at all. Keep in mind that the dodgers thought highly enough of Darvish to start him 3 times in the World Series ( I know it backfired, but still). We should’ve got more.
Sometimes you hold on to the player and let them walk if the offers are insulting. You have to hold your ground sometimes or you will be eternally lowballed. The Darvish trade was a massive stink bomb. I called it when they announced it. Sometimes that happens because a prospect is just exactly that, a prospect...In conclusion the Texas Rangers got absolutely nothing in their trade of Yu Darvish
I'm guessing they will try to resign him to a minors contract if nobody snatches him up. He did pretty well in 2021 in the minors (about 1.70 ERA over 65 innings) so they know there is talent there, they just need to figure out how to get it out of him on a regular basis...To be honest Alexy is more useful than Howard probably but they both should be delivering newspapers in the age of electronic news
Honestly, I probably would’ve preferred that. The Darvish trade pisses me off everytime it’s brought up. I wish we were left holding the bag with nothing. Willie Calhoun acted like a spoiled brat the whole time he was here. in fairness. The kid had a point when we were sending him down to the minors while playing some guy at 2nd base who could barely hit above .100 and was racking up the golden sombreros.Sometimes you hold on to the player and let them walk if the offers are insulting. So to the people who say just get something. That is not always prudent
As constructed right now, this Rangers team could be every bit ss good as the 2009 Rangers team. That 2009 team was only a year away from going to the World Series.
