I want to see Reynolds as well.
Believe it or not the Pirates have a pretty good foundation and should be good in the near future.
I think they will want major league talent back.

I’m wondering if one of Dunning/or/Otto + Heim, Harris, Foscue/or/Duran/or/Smith, Winn & Roby/or/Vanasco could land Reynolds and Bednar.
6 for 2 special.
They need 1 SP & they need cheap w/ Team control. But somewhat proven- Dunning/Otto
They need a 2B-Duran,Foscue,Smith
They need a C-Heim
And they could always use a couple of top pitching prospects. Winn-Roby/Vanasco
And they could use a legit COF/CIF/DH big bat prospect like Harris.

I'd make that deal in a heartbeat.
Think Reynolds makes Texas a top-five scoring offense and it sure would rock having a top-level closer like Bednar.
Would also solidify the bullpen in general and would take pressure off of LeClerc and Hernandez (neither having to close). It's been a long while since Texas has had a great closer, to say the least.

You are right on the insanity of the length of the contracts. But what athletes are getting paid has been insane for a while.
