I hear that catching prospect Gabriel Moreno from Toronto may be available. I would be very interested in him.
Moreno made his MLB debut this year and hit .319 in 69 AB. Here is what MLB Pipeline says about him.

Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 35 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

One of the organization’s savviest international signings in recent years, the Blue Jays landed Moreno for $25,000, seeing the fundamental tools and athleticism to develop into a catcher. Five years later, Moreno is one of the most intriguing young players in the organization, and teams around baseball are quickly taking notice of what the Blue Jays have seen for years. After a rough debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2017, Moreno hit everything he saw in the GCL in ’18, earning him a bump up to the Appalachian League. With Class A Lansing in ’19, Moreno put himself squarely on the prospect map by hitting .280 with 12 home runs and an .823 OPS over 82 games. He was off to a killer start in 2021, hitting .373/.441/.651 with eight homers in 32 games at Double-A New Hampshire before he suffered a fractured thumb in June.

At the alternate training site in 2020, Moreno didn’t just turn coaches' heads. Fellow players raved about the young catcher, who was making louder contact and consistently driving the ball in the air with his quick, compact swing. With low strikeout and walk rates, Moreno puts plenty of balls in play with his very advanced hand-eye coordination and has added even more power as he’s matured in the pro game. He should be above-average in both the hit and power categories, a scary scenario considering his position.

Behind the plate, it’s Moreno’s quickness and athleticism that appeal most to evaluators. Those skills, along with an above-average arm, are what give the Blue Jays confidence in Moreno as a catcher not just today, but in his development going forward, as well. Moreno is young with development still ahead of him, but he has a path to becoming a Major League starter. Even with the lost time due to injury this year, Moreno is young and looking like he may not be far from helping Toronto at the top level. He’s become one of the game’s most exciting catching prospects before his 22nd birthday.

Would love to acquire him especially if we trade Heim to the Pirates lol
Wonder what it would take to get him

He is 8 or 9 in their system. Only their top 2 is in the overall top 100. We have 6 in the overall top 100, so I think based on that it would take someone in our 10 to 20 range. Kelly is 13 for us. I wonder if him and either Acosta (18) or Saggese (19) would work. Unless they want a big leaguer.

We could offer them something a little higher and see if they can throw in another guy.

With Toronto in win now mode I’d assume he’d help bring back good major league talent

I think some of that lineup would have to go to the Padres in the trade. Along with guys like Leiter, Carter and Acuna.
Hate to give up that but not thinking the Pads are to enamored with Tatis and we have guys who take care of “needy” guys

nothing about Tatis suggests he's worth the hassle of getting him here or having him here. My 2 cents.
I am not full steam ahead but. Interesting. Machado sure had issues with him

Anyone else miss the old depth charts where it was a picture of the field and had the players names with a link at their respective positions ?
